Welcome to Build Your Skill - an IT training centre based in Perth, Scotland offering a variety of Microsoft Office courses including Excel, Word and PowerPoint and an online resource store to support secondary schools.
Our training laptops have Office 365 Business Premium installed so we can train in our own premises or go into organisations. We have all the equipment to set-up anywhere.
Our website offers a variety of courses to support Microsoft applications with training resources for Excel, Access and Word and as well as tasks that help with the study of the main functional areas of business. Our courses support the subjects of Administration and IT and Business Management within the Scottish curriculum as well as Business Studies, Business Administration and ICT related subjects for the rest of the UK. Written to stimulate and offer plenty of practice to improve skill and knowledge, each resource has easy to follow instructions with lots of hints and tips that will help consolidate learning and give students the confidence to progress and improve in whatever area of study they are working on. Using instructional comment boxes, most resources are paperless so no need to spend precious budgets photocopying chunky booklets. Our resources have been written using Office 2019 but are compatible with older versions. With the appropriate app installation, they will work on tablets and mobile phones so students can work through the tasks anywhere! With every set of tasks, there are solutions or exemplars to support teachers and tutors or for students to check their own progress. We really do believe there is truth in the saying “practice makes perfect” and for some students, being able to practice a skill over and over again, or getting plenty of practice doing tasks on the same topic, is just what they need to help secure their knowledge and understanding.
