Absolutely delighted to find out last week that I’ve been shortlisted in the ‘Best Newcomer’ category at the VA Awards.

For once, I’m not sure what to say! I’m so grateful that I had the support I needed to take the leap out of employment and into VA work, and my focus on small charities and social businesses feels like the right place for me to be... I love supporting people to do brilliant, meaningful things.

Looking forward to seeing the list of finalists later this week and meeting some of my fellow nominees at the conference and dinner in October.

*Admin isn't a dirty word*

Admin is presenting your sales figures in way that helps you understand where your business is succeeding, and what you need to work on.

Admin is making sure that the people attending your online training course actually make it to the zoom call.

Admin is tracking your charity’s grant applications so that you don’t miss out on essential funding for your service users.

Admin is creating a beautiful powerpoint so that your customers understand what you do.

Admin is making sure that you don’t get fined for a data breach.

Admin is looking after your potential job candidates, to make them feel confident your business is somewhere they want to work.

So many of us, Virtual Assistants included, shy away from the word ‘admin’. But without this little thing called admin, nothing would happen. I named my business Admin Unbound as ‘admin’ is a fair assessment of what I do, and ‘unbound’ because I hope that I can free you from the burden of your own personal admin demons, and leave you to concentrate on growing a successful business or charity.

Welcome to the Admin Unbound office! 3000 sq ft, canteen, concierge service…. Oh no, hang on, it’s just me in my kitchen.

I set up a new desk for myself in the kitchen a few weeks ago and am loving being surrounded by my plants (not enjoying being surrounded by children’s toys quite so much 🤦🏻‍♀️). Best thing, only 5 steps from the kettle!
