Change happens often.

From revised plans to potentially pivoting your business model, life may feel like it's a little up in the air - and that can be unsettling.

But don’t worry! Times of change, like a big life-decision or even a monkey wrench in your plans can bring GREAT challenges (as in good), you’ve just got to start dreaming up the possibilities.

When change comes around, take it as an opportunity for a fresh start.

We rarely get to go back to square one, so take it and run with it! Be mindful that the change you are experiencing is important - it could be your chance to catapult towards success.

Reflect on the past: how have you previously adapted to change? Was it successful or unsuccessful? If it was successful, continue! If not, try something new

Raise your hand in the comments below if you’re feeling like you’re in the middle of a life change right now (I know how uneasy and sometimes long the in-between process can feel…) 🙋🏻‍♀️ so we can support you and cheer you on until you reach the other side!

How old-school is this?

I still track my client’s business and productivity progress in a 3-ring binder. I know, I know... most people use iPads now, right?

But to me, there's something that can't be beat about handwriting your notes and milestones on a piece of paper and having them physically there to reflect back on.

What do you think of this habit? Outdated or classic?

The word gratitude seems to be trending these days.

And I love it!...so long as the meaning and purpose of it aren’t lost.

So... What is gratitude exactly?

According to gratitude expert, Robert Emmons, gratitude is an affirmation of goodness. It’s recognizing that there is good in the world and that goodness exists outside of ourselves.

➡️ It's noticing all of the good things there are and how you have received and benefited from them,

➡️ It's recognizing that this goodness is a gift that you didn’t create yourself.

Like a neighbor mowing your lawn without asking. A friendly smile. Some sunshine on your skin after months of overcast skies.

Today I'm grateful that I get to help my clients live balanced, happy, inspired lives and run successful businesses for a living! I basically get to be apart of so many things THEY end up being grateful for! 💕 What a beautiful circle and blessing...

Will you indulge me, friend?

I’ve been thinking… If the sky’s the limit, there’s nothing stopping me from getting this business to reach mamas and business owners around the world like I believe it can.

It feels incredible to dream that way, so why shouldn’t we?!

If the sky were the limit, what would you reach for in your business or your day to day? What would your life look like? What would you accomplish?

I want to help! With my 1:1 Power Hours, Business process review recommendations, SOPs, Personal time management, and productivity plans, we can make that dream a REALITY! 🥰

Is it just me, or have things been a little extra crazy lately? I’m staying sane by keeping up weekly date-nights with my husband and constantly reminding myself that the me-10-years-ago would freak if she knew I’d made our business and family-personal-life-balance goals come true!

That reminder always gives me peace in times like these. What’s giving you peace these days?

If you’re a workaholic, you need to hear this

I was raised to be a hard worker! I think most of us were — being praised for lack of sleep and “hustling” to make our dreams come true.

That being said, it took me FOREVER to let go of my “workaholic” tendencies and realize that time for fun and play WEREN’T a waste of time! They were a (very necessary) part of the journey.

The moments we do something just for the pure joy, fun, and love of it are crucial. We are human beings, not machines. We require inspiration and a feeling of being “recharged”. As a result of carving out time for these things, we get on our A-game and approach everything we do with a full heart.

If you find yourself “never having the time” for fun, or maybe you’re on the opposite spectrum and worry about getting carried away and spending TOO much time having fun rather than working, then here’s my tip for you:

Plan for it!

Actually write down in your calendar what you’ll be doing and how long you’ll be doing it for. You don’t need to follow this to a T, but having a guideline makes a world of difference!

How do you plan your week? Do you feel like you a lot enough time for play? Let me know in the comments below!

The truth about color-coding your calendar

You don’t need to.

That’s right. I said it.

My planning practice has changed a lot over the years. In this season of my life, I don't colour code anything (I may use a green pen every once in a while if I can find one) in my planner, but I don't spend HOURS on 'the making of the schedule’, and I don't make it a "thing."

Many of us approach the idea of planning as this beautiful, dainty, colorful, ritual… but eventually it becomes more like a scrapbooking project we just don’t have time for or is a little too daunting to approach.

It doesn’t have to be perfect. It doesn’t have to look nice. What works for me now is having a general guide for the week that allows enough flexibility for spontaneity, the unexpected, and naps.

This is the purpose of a calendar/planner!

If your calendar is just way too overwhelming, then I’m here to help!

With my 1:1 Power Hours, Business process review recommendations, SOPs, Personal time management, and productivity plans, your dream life of balance and success is closer than you think! 😉

How to plan your week if you’re busy AF!!

I often get asked about my planning routine. I work a 9-5 job, I have twins, and I'm a founding member at Ponderlily...so it takes a bit of planning to juggle priorities.

So, what’s my “secret”?

When it comes to planning my week, I spend about 15 minutes on it. That. Is. It.

I usually do this during a coffee break just before I start work for the day or during my lunch break on a Thursday or a Friday so I can start the week anew.

Using a planner, here's what I focus on:

Set the tone with a positive intention for my week.
I can turn to it when things get challenging.

Note key dates
Pajama day at my kids’ school, date nights with my husband, work-related deadlines, etc. I also scan my emails to make sure I haven't missed anything. Once I can see how my week is shaping up, I notice when I may need additional time to prepare for something.

Set time aside to recharge
This is important! Plant for activities that I really look forward to, and that will allow me to feel invigorated during the week. They truly make a difference! Go to our local park for a walk as a family or pop into my friend Sarah's for a chat.

Review Healthy habits
This helps me think about how to incorporate them into my week without them without feeling like obligation.

If planning out your week for your personal life AND business feel like a never ending battle that you’re tired of losing, then my Power Hours are for you! DM me to get started - believe it or not, a (finally!) balanced lifestyle and successful business are waiting for you!

This morning, I’d like to raise a “toast” (ha, get it?) to someone very special…

You!

Personally, I’d not like to think about what my life would look like without you. Working with my clients has filled my life with so much joy, purpose, and inspiration!

And for that, I’m immensely grateful.

Who would you like to raise a “toast” to… and what’s your slice of choice: rye, gluten-free wheat, or English muffin? For me, I choose marble rye bread all the way!
