You guys know you're getting all my secrets right?

One of my new bite size training sessions, is about running wedding consultations, and this is a super important part of booking couples!
This might sound obvious, but there's a trick to it and it's not suggesting an endless list of flower varieties or being nice to them.

I am going to be teaching you exactly what I do!

I've refined my method over my 14 years of doing this, and since tweaking it again last winter, I've been converting around 80% of couples into bookings.

Ah man the session last night was amazing. Loads of good energy and questions from the group. However it was just a tiny snippit of what's going to be in these new Bite Size Sessions!

Times have changed, couples are acting differently and booking habits have changed. Keep up with the times to make sure you're not wasting your efforts on enquiries that won't convert. Or maybe you're not getting the enquiries in the first place! These sessions are going to help.

Righto, there's been a lot of negative talk in the industry recently, and whilst I realise that things have changed and a lot of us are experiencing problems in business, I also think it's not all doom and gloom!!

Having been in business for 14 years now, I've experienced and lived through all sorts of highs and lows. The key is to just recognise is and adapt. Change what you're doing it or how you do it!
Hell, sometimes things in business just change, and we have to roll with it. If you stay still you stay stuck and get left behind.

I'm still getting those enquiries, my conversion rate is higher than ever and I'm finally seeing my average spend rise after the COVID years.
Don't get me wrong, the enquiries have taken their time in coming in this year, but they're definitely now coming in and I have a secret sauce for how I run the front end process and consultations, that converts the majority of enquiries.

I feel like I want to run a low cost session for you all to show you how can adapt and ways you can still convert those enquiries into bookings, and how you can get those enquiries in the first place!

Believe it or not, I had these Sweetpea delivered on 29th January 😲And now it's just a curiosity thing as to how long they'll keep going!

They're normally a flower that doesn't last long at all in my experience. But these beauties came in at 55cm long and are still going strong!

One of the tricks with Sweetpea, is to only put them in shallow water as they don't like sitting in deep water. They kind of drown!
I learned that on a trip to visit a Lathyrus grower in Aalsmeer with
So if you're using them for a wedding, lots of air/space, and minimal water after you condition them, then they'll be fine when you pop them into your arrangements.

These are the last of them and I've taken them out of the arrangement they were in because they were too good to throw away. I've cut them down and placed in fresh water. Let's see how long they'll last!

As of today (thanks for the notice Facebook!) Meta are starting to delete Facebook live videos and implementing a new policy of deleting any new ones after 30days automatically.

Now whilst that won't affect a lot of you in your Floristry businesses, it's a stark reminder that you need a great website and other marketing avenues, as well as socials. Because we do not own this platform or have any control over what they do with it.

I've downloaded all my important ones from the Facebook group and will be sharing them in new posts on there over the next few days, so that you continue to have the valuable training in the World Wide Wedding Florist Community.

There's so much excitement with my 121 ATM clients right now!
Honestly, January hits, and people start really thinking about pushing their business forward to new levels.
One Florist who signed up to ATM (Access To Me) today, to really kickstart the wedding floristry side of her business, said to me 'if I don't do it this year, I may never will!'

Another is asking loads of great questions via the unlimited WhatsApp support, and using her skills from her former corporate career and floristry talent, along with my mentoring, to really push her new wedding floristry business. And she's going to go far, I know it! I even did a deep dive into her website SEO for her to help achieve her goal.

The results are in, and apparently a lot of you are experiencing the same.

A few days ago, I put a poll up on my Facebook group asking how your wedding enquiries were going so far this year as back end of December and January is traditionally a busy time for them. I'd been a little quiet on that front, and I wasn't worried, but I wanted to reach out to see what you guys were experiencing too. To see if it was a general thing or just something I'd done/hadn't done etc. (P.S. I'm happy to report that those enquiries are now rolling in with three so far this week alone and two bookings last week)

Over 50% if you said that you were much quieter than normal, and interestingly more of you said you were getting last minute enquiries for this year. (I'm finding people are still booking for this summer, so don't lose faith!)

I'm also happy to report that the changes I made to my website and process in December to improve the quality of the enquiries coming through is working! I was spending too much time meeting with people who weren't converting into bookings and wanted to improve my conversion rate whilst also keeping the good quality of bookings that I'm really proud of. So I spent time tweaking and speaking to a mentor, and I've booked all but one enquiry since, plus they are spending more. Win!!

I'm Vicky, and you are all welcome in this lovely safe, educational space I've created here. It's great to see you here 🌷

I've been a Florist for 14 years now, after leaving the corporate world of banking to pursue my passion, because I'm a creative soul at heart!
I took redundancy and I've never looked back. I adore this wonderful industry were all in.
