A new chapter for Anderson & Garland.

Following a management buy out, ownership of the business has passed to Directors Fred Wyrley Birch and Alison Orgill, with Fred becoming majority shareholder. Julian Thomson remains as Chairman, ensuring continuity as we look to the future.

Since joining Anderson & Garland in 2009, Alison has been instrumental in the day to day management of the company, overseeing operations, finance and its continued development. Following a recent management buy out, Alison now shares ownership of the business alongside fellow Director Fred Wyrley Birch.

"Our responsibility is not simply to preserve what has been achieved over the last 186 years, but to continue investing in the business, our people and, most importantly, our clients as we look ahead to our bicentenary."

The Brian Whitton Collection returns for its third and final chapter on 16th September, and among the highlights is this striking oil by David Haughton, Cape Cornwall Road. Following Parts One and Two, which shone a light on one of the most significant private collections of John Tunnard's work ever assembled, this closing sale steps beyond Tunnard to show the full breadth of Brian's eye as a collector, decades of modern and contemporary works gathered with real curiosity and discernment. The Haughton carries an estimate of £1,500 to £2,000 and comes with a lovely thread of provenance, purchased from Sims Gallery in St Ives back in 1994. Viewing takes place on Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th September, 10am to 3pm, with the sale itself live from 10am on the 16th. Full details and the complete catalogue are on our website, link in bio.
