We’re big believers in provenance and so work with individual tea estates and tea gardens wherever possible.

We have created several blends and selected single origin teas where bees and other insect are protected and are thriving.
It’s a frightening fact that the planet’s insect population is in decline, partly due to global warming and also as a result of mass mono-crop farming.
At Storm, we work with organic tea estates and gardens that are bucking this trend – where insect populations are increasing thanks to plant diversity and avoidance of chemical insecticides. On the Harington Estate in Sri Lanka there has been a tripling of the bee population since organic farming practises were introduced. Similar observations have been made in the Jalinga Tea Garden in Assam, India. Jalinga is the only certified carbon neutral tea farm in the world!
