The UK-India trade deal is live. Most North East businesses still aren't using it.
Since 15 July, India's average tariff on UK goods has dropped from 15% to 3%. Whisky halved. Automotive down from over 100% to 10% under quota. And for the first time, there's a dedicated chapter built for small and medium businesses, not just multinationals.
As Honorary Consul General Meenu Malhotra DL put it at our recent trade briefing: "It no longer is the market for giants."
At ISS Airview, we've been building the UK-India corridor for years, long before the headlines. That's why we're proud to be supporting the North East Mayor's Trade Mission to India this October, helping put North East businesses on the ground at the exact moment the FTA takes hold.
But a trade mission is one door. Going global is the bigger picture.
Whether it's India, market entry strategy, tariff lines, rules of origin, finding a distributor, or working out if international is even right for you yet: that's what we do. Based in Newcastle International Airport's Enterprise Zone with direct links to 80+ destinations and people on both ends of the corridor.
Thinking about growing global? Talk to us first. Wherever you're headed.
