Before we dive in, SQL Bits is the largest data conference in Europe. It's a gathering of minds, passion and fun.

Each year the conference has a different theme, and this year it was Dungeons and Dragons. The 3 days were full of tech talk, learning, board games, fancy dress and running clubs.

Working with Sneaky Experience, we were tasked with creating a mega wall of back-to-back visuals over the 3 days. Phoebe and Jim graphic recorded throughout and created 2 visuals:

1. To capture insights from Community Corner.
2. To capture what people love about SQL Bits.

Our client, .events needed a fun way to capture key takeaways from 1 day event they were designing in Central London. They wanted something striking, fresh and a visual focal point.

🚨 We retain 80% of what we see, compared to 20% of what we read and only 10% of what we hear.

Think about the number of business conversations happening every day that aren't visualised. What's happening to all the insights and decisions? We often say, 'the richness of spoken words evaporate if they aren't captured somehow'.

🎉 Good news. Our work supports communication between teams and individuals and across markets and countries. People can:
- see what others mean rather than make assumptions
- reflect on what's been said
- use the shared visual for onward communication and action after the conversation.

The clocks have sprung forward and, as the world around us springs to life, we’re really looking forward to getting out and about amongst nature 🌱.

At Lim, we’re big believers in the power of the great outdoors and how it contributes to our overall health and feeling of well-being. This is especially true for Ellie Pritchard, who’s big on gardening.

As a community gardener in her spare time, Ellie knows only too well that bees have an important part to play in maintaining our planet. That’s why she’s drawn an infographic based on simple things we can do to make our outdoor spaces bee friendly.

Ellie’s inspiration has come from first-hand experience and also from a podcast by The Kitchen Garden Magazine where the editor, Steve Ott, explains why our black and yellow fuzzy friends are struggling and need our help 🐝.

At Lim, we’re really big on physical, mental, and emotional wellness, and we believe in them wholeheartedly. For us, everything from fitness and nutrition to sleep and mindfulness is fundamental to our daily lives.

This month, Phoebe drew an infographic based on her personal experience of listening to a conversation on the Feel Better, Live More podcast by Doctor Rangan Chatterjee and Andrew Huberman. The two talk about access to sunlight, and why even in winter, it’s so important for a happy and fulfilling life.

‘What I loved about the podcast was that it wasn’t just someone telling me to do something because I should – it explained the science behind it in a way that was quite visual. Because I’m a visual learner, it just stuck.’

👀 Our name derives from the word ‘limn’. We removed the ‘n’ to make it modern and fresh. Which is what we’re all about.

‘Limn’ means ‘to depict or describe in painting or words’. 🎨

The word can be traced back to the Latin word ‘illuminare’ which means ‘to illuminate’ ✨. We feel it perfectly sums up what we do because we describe what our clients are talking about through pictures and key words.
