First aid on Farm 🚜

Great first aid session last week on a large dairy farm overlooking their impressive new 60-point rotary parlour 🐄

Training was delivered on farm over two days, allowing everyone to take part between milking. A brilliant, hands-on couple of sessions. Well done to everyone who took part and for making safety a priority on farm.

We managed to capture a few shots of the team practising their secondary surveys and CPR, with the rotary parlour in the background, a great setting to put these life-saving skills into practice.

World Mental Health Day - 10th October

Today we are joining others across the world in recognising the importance of mental health and taking a moment to support our farming community.

Farming life can be tough. Long hours, financial pressures, unpredictable weather, and the isolation that often comes with the job can all impact wellbeing. It's ok not to be ok, and it is important to talk about it.

At 4R Reassurance, we care deeply about the wellbeing of our farmers and rural workers. Alongside our regular work supporting farm safety and management, we are also committed to promoting positive mental health. We now offer Mental Health First Aid training, helping people in our community recognise the signs of mental distress and support those who may be struggling.

Let's use today as a reminder to look out for one another, start conversations, and take care of ourselves.

Stepping Outside the Day Job

A couple of weekends ago, our Health & Safety Lead completed the Gower Peninsula 100km Ultra Challenge raising money for Cancer Research UK. It was rough going for her (especially on her feet 👣), but such a rewarding experience for a great cause.

It's not every weekend you walk 100km over coastal trails, but it's a reminder that grit, planning, and support really do go a long way - in challenges and work.

We believe in showing up, pushing through the tough stuff, and looking out for others. Whether that's walking 100km or building safer farms.

We almost forgot to share that we recently took part in a Farm Safety Day at Holme Lacy College, where we delivered focused sessions on life-threatening bleeds - a real risk in high hazard environments like Agriculture.

From farm machinery to animal related injuries, knowing how to respond quickly and correctly can save a life.

We don't just talk about safety - we train you to act.

Let’s Change the Statistics 📉

Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing is still Great Britain’s most dangerous industry, with the highest rate of fatal injuries per 100,000 workers.

That’s not just a number – that’s real people.
Family members, colleagues and friends.

It doesn’t have to be that way.

This Farm Safety Week, we are calling on the industry to push back against the stats – and we are here to help.

Our services are built for real farms and real risks:

●Site visits with practical, No-nonsense advice
●Health & Safety File with clear actions
●RAMS put together with the input of you and your team
●Safety Awareness Training
●First Aid Training
●And more

Farm Safety isn’t about ticking boxes – it’s about making sure everyone gets home safe at the end of the day.

Farm Safety Week 21st - 25th July 2025

This Farm Safety Week has coincided with us being out on farms delivering Harvest Health & Safety Awareness training.

It’s one of the busiest times of year for arable farmers — and also one where safety can easily slip through the cracks.

From trailer checks and PTO guards to lone working and first aid, we’re here to help make sure your team is protected and prepared.

• Practical, no-fuss advice
• Realistic risk assessments
• Harvest awareness training and toolbox talks

Just a few of the ways we support safer, smarter farming.

Remember — health and safety isn’t just for one week. It’s year-round.

If you'd like some friendly support, get in touch.

Lambing season is here!

With many farms welcoming Lambing Assistants to help during this busy time, it’s important to ensure new staff are familiar with the farm, its layout, and emergency procedures to reduce the risk of accidents.

A common request from our sheep farming customers is farm visits to provide staff inductions for lambing assistants. These inductions cover health & safety awareness, emergency procedures, hygiene, correct handling techniques, and mental health.

For Reassurance customers, this service can be included as part of your package, giving you extra peace of mind.
