Colour, mixed by hand 🎨

Every silkscreen job starts at the ink table. We hand-mix our colours to match an original artwork or a specified Pantone, adjusting by eye until it's right.
Then comes the satisfying part. Watch how the squeegee presses the screen down onto the paper and pulls the ink through the mesh, one careful pass at a time.
It's a slow, tactile process, and it's why silkscreen prints have that rich, layered depth of colour.

Watching gold leaf catch the light on a fresh print never gets old ✨⁠

This piece started life on our SwissQ printer, building up the texture that gives it real depth. Then we got hands-on with screen printing glue onto those textured areas and carefully applied faux gold leaf by hand, before sending the print back through for the final colour.⁠

It's a slower process, but that's exactly the point. Every extra step is there to capture the richness of the original.⁠

If you're an artist wondering how to turn your original work into something more, this is for you.

For Rex Matthews. We photographed his original artwork with our high-resolution scan-back camera, then framed the piece itself. From these high-quality digital files, we produced two giclée print editions of Rex's work, framing one of those too. The high quality of our photography means it can be used in all sorts of ways; in this case, that same photograph went on to feature on the Newhaven ferry, a reminder of just how far a great reproduction can travel.

Some projects really showcase what's possible when you combine multiple printmaking techniques.⁠

This limited edition print by Matt Small, produced for Nelly Duff Gallery back in 2019, brought together a whole range of processes to create a truly striking edition. We began with a textured silkscreen layer, followed by metallic silver ink, before digitally flatbed printing the artwork over the top. To finish, we added a beautiful copper iridescent ink and a spot gloss, giving the print incredible depth, texture and movement as it catches the light.⁠

It's projects like these that demonstrate how combining traditional craftsmanship with modern print technology can elevate an edition far beyond a standard print.⁠
