Finally! We got to Sully Island yesterday and the conditions were just about perfect – not too cold (for most of us anyway!) and very little wind or waves. We recorded the Bronze Age cist for the HER, and TWO wrecks – we'd only had a report of one. We also went to look at the Iron Age fort and the Bronze Age barrow. They'd been photographed in 2017, but when we tried to repeat the picture from the same spots, we found that here had been enough erosion that it now wasn't safe to stand to stand there!

We were planning to go out to Sully Island tomorrow to look at whether the erosion round the Iron Age fort and the Bronze Age barrow was getting any worse, but Storm Herminia's put a stop to that, with yellow warnings for wind and rain We now hope to go out there in a fortnight's time. All this rough weather may uncover the Bronze Age cist below the high water mark too. Here's some pictures we've taken in the past.
