For us, working in solar isn’t just about installing panels—it’s about building a sustainable future right here in our local community. ☀️🌱

We recently teamed up with Treviglas Academy to give their Year 8 students a hands-on look into the renewable energy sector. The students took on real-world customer briefs—stepping into roles across energy assessment, design, surveying, and sales to see how a green business works from the inside out.

Inspiring the next generation and giving young people practical skills for tomorrow’s workforce is just as important to us as the clean energy we generate.

☀️ A customer wanted solar panels. A classroom of Year 8s had to work out how to deliver them.
Four teams, four very different jobs, and none of them could finish without the others. Here's what happened when a local renewable energy firm handed the brief over to students 👇

Battery Storage Installations Nearly Doubled — And So Has the Demand for Skilled Installers!

New MCS figures show UK battery storage installations nearly doubled in the first half of 2026 versus last year, with 92% of new batteries paired with solar — homeowners are clearly done sending their excess power back to the grid for pennies. It's a trend we're seeing first-hand across our Newquay, Exeter and Bristol hubs, and it's exactly why we've been growing our EESS-certified installer team this year. More demand for storage means more good, skilled, local jobs in the South West's renewables sector — and we're proud to be creating them.

Congratulations to Tesla — the Model 3 has been named Electric Executive Car of the Year at the What Car? Electric Car Awards.

Here's the bit we love: the cheapest, cleanest way to run one is on sunshine. Pair a Tesla with solar panels and battery storage and you're charging on electricity you've generated yourself - for free!

☀️ Want to see what that feels like? You can test drive a Tesla Model 3 or Model Y with us at Naked Solar - Newquay — no dealership, no pressure, just a proper drive and an honest chat about what solar and battery storage could do for your home, business and your car.

Bills are going up again — here's how to get ahead of it ☀️

Ofgem has confirmed the energy price cap will rise 4% to £1,723 a year from 1 October, with gas bills up 8% as global markets stay volatile. If you've been weighing up solar and battery storage, this is exactly the kind of price shock it's designed to protect you from — generating and storing your own power means October's rise (and the next one) matters a lot less. Get in touch before winter to see what a system could save you.

New government figures show the South West is now the UK's second-highest region for solar deployment, with 17,539 installations in the past 12 months and over 271,400 systems installed to date — up 13% on last year. From Newquay to Exeter to Bristol, that growth is being delivered by local installers and engineers who live in these communities. We're proud to be part of the team turning that regional momentum into rooftops generating clean power right across Cornwall, Devon and the South West.
