Spent sometime in the shaping bay last week with Luke working on these two Form Surfboards prototypes.

Both designs geared up for high performance surfing in our waves and actually look quite normal in the photo but the one on the right has some very unique and interesting design ideas that play with foam volume and it’s distribution through the shape amongst other exciting concepts. Ultimately we are trying to pack as much volume as we can into a performance board but we still want that foam volume to add more than just paddle ease and speed on a wave face, the goal here is to feel that added volume add something to critical moments into and out of high performance turns.

The board on the left is designed for summer surf around waist to head high, a poly blank that will be glassed with epoxy to give it a very lively feel. The same foam distribution characteristics apply for this board too but we have also been playing around with a new quad fin set up that we are hoping will add some very exciting fast performance lines through critical turns. This board will also have a swallow tail that I feel really complements and works well in smaller surf and quad fin boards.

Very excited to get these boards in the water on the next swell to start testing and refining the ideas.

Both boards, if they make it into the FORM collection are going to need a name at some point, so let’s here your best ones in the comments section!

It’s been five years since we launched into the world with good friends at and my long time shaper, best mate and family member the talented Luke Hart at .

It’s been so much fun so far and I’m so grateful that these guys saw the vision collectively to allow FORM to grow so organically from my very excited surf driven but some what scattered thoughts and ideas on how a surfboard should feel and perform on a wave. The FORM team have always allowed me the creative freedom to work on and test new board designs and have continued to put in the hard work to make the dream a reality! But the biggest pay back that I didn’t really comprehend at the start is seeing peoples faces light up when they talk about their new board or the best wave they ever caught, such great positive energy! So cheers to the FORM and team and thank you to everyone who has been part of the journey so far, you beauties!

Now that the JET surfboard has been out in the wild for awhile and under the feet of some of you, it’s great to here feedback coming in.

“The Jet model 5’10 at 32.2 litres by (a colab between Alan Stokes and )

I’ve ridden this board for about 50 waves now and it’s 💯% a keeper! I’ve been mainly riding it as a thruster where it loves to be pushed and the more you boss it about the more it responds - whereas a lot of other boards start either not handling it or snapping back at you for the slightest wrong ankle movement etc. one thing to note if you get one is that I found lying with my chin further towards the nose of the board than I usually do - felt much better for take offs.

Although it’s a litre less than I generally prefer riding (and I’m currently wearing the most amount of rubber I ever do), it feels like plenty of volume - the board is quite flat but it has a fair bit of tail rocker and I think that’s where the magic lies …. Absolutely brilliant board! Next thing for me is to get the hang of using it as a Twin Fin which for me felt unusual but with which I also threw by far the biggest spray I’ve ever thrown (clip from a few weeks back) 🤙🌊🤙
