❗New identity verification requirements for people with significant control (PSCs).

Every PSC has a 14-day window to provide their Companies House personal code. When that window falls depends on your situation:

- if you're both a PSC and director of the same company, your 14 days starts the day after the company's confirmation statement date
- if you're a PSC but not a director, your 14 days runs from the 1st to the 14th of your birth month
- if you're a new PSC, you can provide your code when first added to the register, or within 14 days of receiving your direction letter

Get your personal code by verifying your identity through the 'Verify your identity for Companies House' service (using GOV.UK One Login) or via an Authorised Corporate Service Provider. You only need to do this once – the same code works for all your roles - but you’ll only be able to provide it as a PSC once your 14-day period has started.
