A warm welcome to Katie O'Hare, the latest member of The Growth Network.

Katie is the founder of Advance Business Support, helping businesses across the UK and Ireland stay organised and keep their day-to-day operations moving.

Katie’s experience spans business operations, compliance and business development.

She worked across compliance and business development for the Australian Government, and has since held health and safety, operations and business support roles in Ireland, including as a Business Development and Compliance Manager.

Through Advance Business Support, Katie and her team help with administration, customer service, finance support, compliance, recruitment, IT, social media, supply chain coordination and much more.

But as always, we’re interested in the person behind the business too. Katie understands the pressure that builds when business owners are caught up in the daily detail. Her focus is on providing reliable, flexible support that gives them more time to look after clients and focus on what’s next.

A proud moment for The Growth Network as our founder, Martin Murtagh, was named runner-up for the Excellence in Business Support Award 2026 at MENTupLEADup®, in association with ILM, at Queen’s University Belfast.

Thank you to everyone who nominated Martin, and congratulations to Caroline Keenan on receiving the award, along with all the other shortlisted professionals.

Huge credit to Michelle Lestas for organising such a fantastic occasion. We know only too well the effort involved in making events like this happen!

And the conversations didn’t end with the awards. We’re looking forward to having Michelle join us again at The Growth Network, with a few more interesting faces potentially joining our speaker line-up following yesterday’s introductions.

Two very different journeys, with plenty of interesting insights, honest conversations and a few laughs along the way.

The events we run simply wouldn’t be the same without the generosity of the people who give up their time to come along and share their experience with the room.

Great evening in last night for our latest Founders’ Table at ISME Ireland.

We made quality connections and built new relationships.

We also covered a lot more ground than we expected.

We talked about , , leadership, self-belief, resilience, owning your experiences, and the books that got us started:

Such as The Magic of Thinking Big, How to Win Friends and Influence People, Think and Grow Rich, and Change Your Life in Seven Days.

Hugh McAlinden and Jason Cooper shared plenty from their own experiences, but some of the best parts of the evening came from where the wider discussion took us.

That’s why we keep the table small.

When everyone gets to be part of it, you never quite know where the conversation will go.

Thanks to Hugh, Jason, Daragh, and everyone who came along, and to ISME Ireland for having us.

We’re already looking forward to the next one in Dublin on Thursday 5th November. 🚀

A lovely bit of recognition for our founder, Martin Murtagh, who was shortlisted for Community Champion of the Year at the NI Tech Awards in Belfast last night.

Martin didn’t take home the award, but we’re delighted for Máirín Murray and TechFoundHer, and the recognition of the work they’re doing.

The Growth Network started just four years ago with a simple idea.

Bring people together.

Help them get to know each other.

And see what comes from it.

So to have that work recognised alongside so many brilliant people means a lot.

It was also great to have Colm Maguire from Tabulator and Chiara Tracey Bolzon from 3LIT3 there last night.

Both had already given their time to our Belfast Tech Week 2026 event at Pancake Studios Limited on Tuesday, with Chiara travelling from Valencia to join us.

And, as always, new conversations started too.

Martin met Daniel Murphy from PwC UK and Karthik RajendraPrasad from Karb AI, caught up with Iain Cahill from ViscaCare, and bumped into Alastair Cameron from TechTides, one of the early adopters of Mindropic.
