๐Ÿ“ธ๐ŸŽฅ Throwback Thursday โ€“ Demolition of Doyleโ€™s Bridge, Athlone (2012) ๐Ÿ“ธ๐ŸŽฅ

A look back at the demolition of Doyleโ€™s Bridge in Athlone, a complex structure made up of three different builds, a central masonry arch from the 1880s, alongside pre-cast beam sections added in the 1960s and 1990s.

In total, the bridge spanned 34.8 metres over a live railway line.

Working over an active rail line required detailed planning and strict adherence to health and safety procedures at every stage.

To minimise disruption, the main works were carried out overnight, with the last train passing at 9pm and the line fully reopened by 8am the following morning.

Projects like this highlight the precision, coordination, and experience required to deliver safely in high-pressure environments.

Tinnelly Group is delighted to be working alongside ML Quinn on the Jamestown Court Regeneration Project in Inchicore, Dublin.

This phase of the project involves the demolition of two blocks of flats, paving the way for the development of modern social housing units.

Works are now underway on site, with demolition expected to be completed by the end of April.

Weโ€™re proud to play our part in projects that contribute to the regeneration of communities and the delivery of new homes.
