NEWS | Taoiseach and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade announce funding for Shared Island Industrial Sustainability Challenge Fund

InterTradeIreland welcomes today’s announcement from the Taoiseach, Micheál Martin and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Helen McEntee that €20m has been pledged to the Shared Island Industrial Sustainability Challenge Fund, with a further €6m being provided by the lead economic development agencies, Enterprise Ireland and Invest Northern Ireland.

The fund, which follows on from the success of the Sustainability Capital Grant Scheme, will support first-of-its-kind industrial sustainability projects across the island in areas of Flexible Industrial Electrification, Hard-to-Abate Climate Tech, Water Efficiency and Circularity, Resource Efficiency and the Bioeconomy.

We look forward to continuing our partnership with Enterprise Ireland and Invest Northern Ireland to deploy this innovative fund.

If you're a cluster practitioner on the island of Ireland, a reminder that applications for our new Cluster-to-Cluster Project Development Fund are now open!

The new fund will support cluster organisations that partner with a cluster in the opposite jurisdiction to tackle a broad range of industry challenges such as skills and talent, supply and value chain, adoption of new technologies or early-stage pilots.

With funding per project ranging from €30k to €250k, this is an opportunity for clusters across the island to strengthen their cluster performance, increase resilience and long-term competitiveness, whilst building a stronger, industry-led platform for growth.
