🇦🇺 Aimee's Australia Trip 🇦🇺
🐨🐊 Perth, Broome and Darwin 🐊🐨
🤩 Aimee has just returned from an unforgettable FAM trip to Australia hosted by the amazing Tourism Australia! She spent 1 night in Perth, 3 in Broome and 5 in Darwin. 🏨
I could talk about this for trip hours and hours but below I have written a small snipet into what I expeirenced. Feel free to pop into store to chat with me about all things Australia wether its my trip or planning your own!
✈️ Flights: We flew with Singapore Airlines from London Heathrow and WOW they were amazing! The service was incredible on board and there was an unbeatable range of snacks, drinks, movies and tv shows to watch on board. Along with this we were provided a pillow and a blanket for out comfort which were so cozy!
🇦🇺 Perth: We had less than 24 hours in Perth with 1 night in the stunning 5* Duxton Hotel with amazing views from the rooms. Although we had a small time there we still managed to squeeze in a walking tour with "Two Feet & A Heartbeat" where we were all shown the must sights like the black swan lake, all of the street art and the best places for shopping and dining.
🇦🇺 Broome: After the flight into Broome we were straight onto a bus tour with "Broome and Around" to learn all about the pearling history and be shown some of the amazing sights Broome has to offer such as fossilised Dinosaur footprints, the white sands of huge Cable Beach, the red rocks at Roebuck Bay, Gantheaume Point, Town Beach & Jetty and Riddell Beach. After this we had a tour of Pearl Luggers Willie Creek Pearls museum to learn all about the dangers it took to dive & farm the huge amount of Mother of Pearl that this Town was built on. During our time here we stayed at the fabulous Mantra Frangipani hotel. This hotel offers a range of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments which feature all the amenities you need and even have an outdoor shower! Day 2 in Broome and we took a Pre-Historic boat trip from Roebuck Bay to a sacred Aboriginal beach where we could see the gorgeous Kimberley coastline and even more fossilised dinosaur footprints which are millions of years old. During the boat ride we managed to see some turtles and even a shark! After an exciting morning we headed over to the beautiful Mangrove Hotel for a site visit and some tasty lunch! After an exciting morning we had some down time where we headed to the hotel pool for some relaxation. To finish the day off we had the best experience with a Mabu Buru Broome Aboriginal Tour at sunset on beautiful Cable Beach with the lovely Johani who is a local Aboriginal man. He explained his culture, history, way of life & gave us fascinating stories & songs from the worlds oldest civilisation. Days 3 and 4 were even more exciting with an incredible sea plane adventure to head over to Horizontal Falls which is the only place in the world you can see this phenomenon and David Attenburgh said this should be the worlds 8th natural wonder of the world! The tides here rise & fall by 10-12 meters twice a day every single day, purely because of the gravitational pull of the moon. We were lucky enough to have a boat ride through the falls occasionally getting slightly sprayed with seawater. After this adventure we were dropped off by or seaplane at the gorgeous Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm, we had a locally caught Barramundi lunch & the Pearl Farm Tour. We got to pick a fresh oyster from the barrel, cut it open, pick out the pearl & take it into the shop to get cleaned up & graded, one randomly picked out oyster produced 1 pearl worth $750 Australian dollars! We then visited a local Aboriginal Village which had a church decorated entirely by the local Mother of Pearl Oyster shells. The following morning (which was our last) was up to us to take at our own pace so we decided to take a final stroll around Broome to see the 100 year old Sun Pictures outdoor cinema (still in use in its original condition!), Chinatown, pearl diving monuments & a look out to the Mangroves to see if we could spot any crocs before flying up to Darwin, Northern Territory.
🇦🇺 Darwin: We landed in the late afternoon/ evening and after checking into our hotel the Hilton Garden Inn (which had more amazing views) we had nothing planned so we went for a walk down to the waterfront and had a lovely evening meal by the water ready for an early morning wake up to head to Litchfield National Park. The park is located around 90 mins outside of Darwin making it easy to get to. We started with seeing termite mounds which were 3/4 metres high! We then headed to 3 beautiful swimming holes Buley Rockhole, Florence Falls & Wangi Falls with a bush walk in between to see the stunning scenery and wildlife. These swimming holes are ranger checked everyday and it's almost physically impossible for crocs to get to these areas making it a safe area to swim in. After such an exciting day we headed over to the G'DAY welcome party which started at sunset located at the Darwin Trailer Boat Club. We were greeted with a First Nations welcome, a cultural dance and lovely local music. The next two days in Darwin were filled with 78 appointments to meet the wonderful suppliers which help us make your Australian holiday wishes come true. Meeting so many suppliers was a great opportunity and it was incredible to see what they all had to offer. Following the conclusion of our conference we headed to the farewell event which was spectacular. We were amazed with a DJ, saxophone player, didgeridoo player and a real whip cracker man! With the travel home coming close we managed to wrangle a free day in Darwin where we visited crocosaurus cove and saw so many different native animals to Australia with the most exciting being the crocodile! This place is definitely a must visit as there is so much to do, we saw a live feeding of crocodiles, pet a baby crocodile, swam with baby crocodiles and even managed to feed one as well! Following on from a very exciting day we had a nice calm night back at our hotel ready to leave Australia in the morning.
✈️ Changai Airport: Special mention to Singapore airport as we had a 4 hour layover here on our journey home and it definitely did not feel like it! We took a walk around the airport which has actually been voted the worlds best 14 times in its 27 year history and we managed to see the Jewel with perfect timing for its light show display. We flew home with Singapore Airlines again and as the flight was to Australia the service and everything
else was exceptional!
Until next time Australia!
