You might be left feeling like 2021 is like groundhog day for 2020; a let down after so much hope it would be an improvement!
But if the last year or so has taught me anything, it's that life is what you make it; so make it good! I challenge you to tell me one good thing you've realised this last year!

"The Best is Yet to Come."
Whether you're in good times and think to yourself, "Life can't possibly get any better, remember this.
Whether you're in bad times and wonder if it will ever be good again, remember this.

A quick Google brings up a lot of sources for this quote. I was under the impression it was a biblical one, however, it doesn't really matter.

I'm still here! Having to slow down due to lack of energy with being 33 weeks pregnant, and a lot of other stuff going on, but I'm still doing my best when I can to keep pumping out some positivity into the world; we all need it right now!

If you're feeling tired, unmotivated and uninspired, remember that everything natural in the world works in cycles, ebb and flow! Give yourself grace and rest when you feel you need it, and work smart on making the changes you want to see in your life when you get a day where your energy is a bit higher!

Remember; Social Media is a highlights reel, or a nightmare right now depending on what you've been looking at more of...but it's not all true. It's designed to keep you engaged and scrolling, but it's not the real world.

My reality right now is as a tired, uninspired, bare-faced, haven't-done-my-hair, 33 week preggo lady with a heat pack on my neck just trying to get through the last couple weeks before I finish up on Mat Leave.

No one's life is as perfect as their Snapchat/ Instagram filtered, carefully chosen and curated photos would have you believe 100% of the time. Nor is it devoid of hope for humanity, despite current events.

So, put your phone down, go take a walk or make a cuppa and cuddle your fur-babies, actual babies or significant others etc and unplug for a while, and let your mind readjust to what's actually real life.

It's Monday; the start of a new week! Whether you're in lockdown where you are or not, whether you feel empowered or stuck, just remember that every stage is an essential one and serves a purpose. Not every stage of growth or progress towards the life you want is painless!

Turn a new page in your journal or notebook, make some new goals for your week for yourself - make sure they're achievable. Start small and work your way up to the bigger ones; you'll get there!

It's more important, now more than ever, to lift eachother up. The only way we are getting through the darkness is by helping one another, and doing it as one! If people thought more about social responsibility and community, we would get through this pandemic far more gracefully and quickly, I think!!

Nothing was ever gained by tearing someone else down. People who do this give away more about their own hurt and pain than anything to do with their victim. So don't lower yourself to that level. Even when someone else is trying to do it to you.

Everyone loves a good / quote. This has got to be my favourite.

My mission with coaching and this page is to shine a light as a beacon for others, and teach others how to shine. A bit of light in the darkness of the state of the UK and wider world right now is very welcome, I think.

Having looked back on previous posts and yesterday's post, I feel like I need to clarify; Self Care does not come at someone else's expense.

It simply means that you need to keep your cup topped up in order to pour into anyone else's.

My message comes from a place of knowing that as a mother, I frequently forget that I need to take time out to top my cup back up after spending days pouring into my son or my husband or my friends.

But no one can effectively do self care if their basic needs aren't being met beyond this. Look after yourselves and eachother, folks. It's getting to be a scary heartless place out there.
