🌤️ FINISHED WORK EARLY = WALK TIME! 🍂🥾

October is still treating us! Warm sunshine, fresh air and the perfect excuse for a little wander ☀️

Even for a short walk, sensible footwear is a must! 👣

My go-to? My Salomon hiking boots — comfy, supportive and ready for anything… even when a “short walk” mysteriously gets longer! 🗺️🥾

As a Foot Health Practitioner, I’m always reminding people to look after their feet — so I’d better practise what I preach! 😉

🔨✂️ THEY REALLY DON’T MAKE ’EM LIKE THEY USED TO! 💪

A couple of months ago I met a nearly 100-year-old patient who only stopped doing his own nail care this year! 👣

And when I saw his homemade, long-reach contraption… I couldn’t help but smile! ✨

A bit of wood, a long file and a good old dose of “make do and mend” — who needs fancy equipment?! 🤣

Proof that when you’ve been around for nearly a century, you learn to improvise! 🙌

They genuinely don’t make ’em like they used to! ❤️

👣 WHEN YOUR TOENAIL DECIDES IT’S MOVING IN… 🏡

This thick, curved nail had been growing away and taking up far more space than it should!

👀 Just look at that indentation in the after photo — a clear sign of where the nail had been pressing into the skin.

✂️ After a careful trim and reduction, the nail is shorter, lighter and giving the toe some much-needed breathing room!

One stubborn nail, one serious trim… and a much happier toe! 👣🙌

🦶 BIG TOE TRAUMA — OUT WITH THE OLD! 👣

A loose, traumatised toenail was causing a bit of trouble, so it was carefully removed.

✨ Before & after: a clean, quick and painless removal, and a much tidier-looking toe!

Sometimes a toenail just needs to know when it’s time to go! ✂️

👀 What’s that little unwanted guest doing on your foot?!

Yep… it could be a verruca!

Things to look out for:

⚡ Rough, hard skin

⚫ Tiny black dots

🫆 Skin lines that look interrupted

💥 Sometimes painful when walking

Keep the little blighters away: Keep feet clean and dry, don’t share towels or footwear, and wear flip-flops in communal showers/changing rooms.

🍋🍰 WHEN A HOME VISIT COMES WITH PERKS! 🏡

Turned up at my patient’s home this morning for a foot treatment… and left with lemon drizzle cake! 😍

I went there to sort their feet out and somehow I’m the one getting looked after! 🦶🍰

Honestly, my patients are the best! ❤️

8 MONTHS OF GROWTH… THESE NAILS MEANT BUSINESS 🫡

A case of onychogryphosis — thickened, curved and overgrown nails that had been growing for around 8 months. And to top it off, a bit of fungal nail in there for good measure.

✂️ After a good trim and reduction, they’re looking much more manageable and ready for treatment!

Sometimes toenails really do have a mind of their own 🦶
