Busy afternoon photographing Darcy the Irish Setter. He liked his cuddles and wasn't sure what all the fuss was.

RH150002

Taking place within the beautiful grounds of Lowther Castle, this year’s Lowther Show brought a full line-up of activity, which included the Subaru Lowther Horse Carriage Driving Trials.

When you hear the name ‘Cumbria’ you immediately think of lakes and mountains and of forests and fells. Cumbria is the home of outdoor pursuits and the land of adventure sports and there is no more fitting a county to host a celebration of country sports and the Great Outdoors here.

Lowther Castle is a country house in the historic county of Westmorland, which now forms part of the modern county of Cumbria, England. It has belonged to the Lowther family, latterly the Earls of Lonsdale, since the Middle Ages.

A predominantly rural county, Cumbria is home to the Lake District National Park, undoubtedly one of the most beautiful areas of the United Kingdom. Cumbria has provided creative inspiration for generations of artists, writers and musicians. Much of the county is mountainous, with the highest point of the county, and indeed of England, being Scafell Pike. Cumbria is also best known for its lakes and the Lake District is the largest of the UK’s National Parks, featuring 16 of its most spectacular inland waters. The Lake District is also home to over 150 peaks, four over 3,000 feet, including Scafell Pike at 3,206 feet.
