I thought I would share a good news story going into the weekend. I have been working with a mentoring client since March, and we have completed just over 5 hours of mentoring together.
When we first started our relationship, she was anxious, uncertain that mentoring would work and questioned whether she had picked the right person to help support her business growth. It was important for us to build trust, to be realistic about expectations, to be open and honest and to be focused. We agreed that the main aims for her business were to:
1. Generate a business development strategy.
2. Build strong relationships and secure partnership agreements and referrals.
3. Increase visibility and reach.
It has been a pleasure to work with her, and to watch the transformation in her has been rewarding, her confidence has grown, and I am so incredibly proud of the progress that she has made with her business and her approach to growing her business in a few short months. It was a pleasure to meet with her this morning and see the biggest smile and her gushing about the contracts that she has recently secured.
Whilst we still have work to do, this is a positive development, she has voiced that business mentoring has helped her look in more than one direction, develop a strategy that works, increased public knowledge and awareness of her business (10 fold) securing referrals, taught her to action plan, build confidence in being able to promote her business and hold conversations with potential clients, generate leads and has resulted in developed partnerships and ROI. I am pleased that I have been a part of this turnaround for her business and for her personally.
I have really enjoyed this other part of my professional work and seeing the rewards that can be achieved through business mentoring and coaching. I know this is a growing market, and that there is still some scepticism, but the rewards for both mentor and mentee are invaluable. In the world of AI and digitalism I fear that we are losing the human connection. Whilst AI engines learn and grow and can offer some human centred responses, they cannot build real connections and understand the passion and dedication that it takes to develop a startup and build businesses, effect change and execute strategy.
If you think that you would benefit from a business mentor, but are not quite sure about how it could work for you or how you would benefit, please reach out to me to arrange a chat at [email protected] to see if there is a way that I can support you and your business needs.
