Does checking your credit report hurt your credit score? 👀

A question I hear a lot — and the answer is no, checking your own credit report doesn’t normally hurt your score.

The important thing to understand is the difference between a soft search and a hard search. In this Reel, I explain what each one means and when a credit search can actually affect your credit file.

💬 Did you used to avoid checking your credit report because you thought it would lower your score?

Do you need to be a homeowner to purchase with Equity Release? 🤔

It’s one of the most common misconceptions I hear about Equity Release — and the answer isn’t quite as straightforward as you might think.

In this video, I break down what you actually need to know and why owning a property outright isn’t necessarily the whole story.

If you’re approaching retirement, looking at your options, or simply want to understand how Equity Release works, make sure you follow .

We’re here to make money, mortgages, protection and property easier to understand.

Equity Release will reduce the value of your estate and may affect your entitlement to means-tested benefits. Your home or property may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.

It can — and it’s something you’ll want to understand before you get too far into the home-buying process.

Whether your deposit is from your own savings, a gifted deposit from family, an inheritance or another source, your mortgage lender and solicitor may need evidence of where the money came from.

In this video, I explain why the source of your deposit matters and what you may need to provide.
