Last October, the Law introduced a legal duty for employers to proactively take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment. 🛑 In response, have you:

❓ Developed a policy on sexual harassment?
❓ Trained your managers on their responsibilities?
❓ Created an environment where people feel safe to report incidents of sexual harassment or where they feel unsafe?

Our HR consultants, Kate Willcox MCIPD and Nicola McCall MCIPD are running another online training session for line managers on 'Sexual Harassment in the Workplace' on Tuesday 28th January, 10am -12.30pm, for £199 + VAT per person.

We want to wish all of our clients and colleagues a really lovely festive break and happy, healthy New Year!🎄

Our team will be taking some time off.

Nigel and Steve from payroll will finish on 24th Dec until 2nd Jan.

Kate and Nicola from HR will also finish on 24th Dec until 2nd Jan.

Will and Liz from DBS will be working reduced hours from 24th to 6th Jan, closed on the bank holidays, but responding to emails to ensure checks continue to be processed.

There seems to be a stream of celebs hitting the headlines with alleged sexual harassment claims against them; a stark reminder of how important it is to manage allegations appropriately.

If you're paying your staff early this Christmas, there are several things you'll need to consider...

Notify your staff.
It can be a lovely gesture to pay staff early, but make sure they know when to expect their salary!

FPS and EPS submissions.
Report your regular pay date to HMRC. Employees receiving Universal Credit could be impacted if the usual pay date is changed.

Bacs files and payments.
You'll need to generate your Bacs file ahead of time - 2 banking days before pay day.

Agree a date and tasks.
If your payroll and HR share responsibility for payroll, ensure everyone is aware of their responsibilities and deadlines!
