Outstanding presentation by Hana Kotti & Slah Yakoubi capturing the achievements of Tunisian inspectors and teachers with the multimedia life skills toolkits. Doing this kind of work is satisfying, but seeing how it has landed - and how it has been developed - is the greatest reward.

We're excited to be sharing a big step forward in our journey.

🟦 TransformELT is now TELT 🟦

This rebrand reflects more than a name change — it marks our evolution as a globally focused organisation, building on our growth, deepening our expertise, and broadening how we support our clients. Alongside this, we've launched our new website — take a look to see where we're heading next.

www.TELTglobal.com

Over the coming days and weeks, we'll be revealing more about what this next phase means in practice.

While our name is changing, our commitment remains the same: working with governments, ministries and institutions to strengthen education systems and improve the quality of English language teaching worldwide.

If you're at IATEFL this week, come and find us — we'd love to share more in person and hear your thoughts.

We're looking forward to what comes next.

For the city of Barranquilla, on the Caribbean coast of Colombia, a ā€˜dream’ of bilingual education by 2030 that is fast becoming a reality! This is the story so far of one of the most ambitious and satisfying projects we have worked on. For the past two years TransformELT’s curriculum renewal team have worked with colleagues at the British Council and an energetic and creative group of teachers in Barranquilla to develop an English curriculum for the city. Validated and approved by the city’s education authorities and the Glocal Kids initiative at the Universidad del Nord, this month the project enters its ā€˜socialisation’ phase, presenting the new curriculum to over 150 school principals, and identifying ā€˜curriculum champions’ to spread the word. A turning point in our work was a visit to Barranquilla in April last year by Academic Director, Alan Pulverness, when he was able to visit schools, meet teachers, and get a sense of the unique spirit of place that has made the idea of ā€˜localising’ a language curriculum more than just a technical objective. The next few years will see Barranquilla’s teachers and learners developing their super-power!

TransformELT director Alan Pulverness has just returned from a intensive trip to India. "Five days in New Delhi, Hyderabad and Warangal for the initial stage of a project curating British Council TeachingEnglish resources to meet the needs of Indian teachers. A welcome opportunity to connect in person with teachers, observe lessons, and meet officials from the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). At NCERT, Delhi, we also visited the impressive tech facilities at the Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET), including a massive platform of educational resources, audio and video recording studios, and as part of the Digital Infrastructure for Knowledge Sharing (DIKSHA) initiative, AR and VR resources, and books with audio interface for visually impaired learners. Huge thanks and appreciation to co-researcher, Rama Mathew, and colleagues from British Council, Kolkata, who accompanied and guided us, making the whole experience so professionally rewarding.ā€

I have just retuned from a wonderful week in Egypt and already missing the wonderful hospitality of Egyptians. I was particularly grateful for the opportunity to attend the the launch of two recent British Council research projects, 'ELT as a Tool for Empowerment in Egypt' and 'Egypt CPD Landscape Review.' It has been a privilege for TransformELT to be involved in this research in partnership with the British Council, and to work closely with colleagues and stakeholders in Egypt. The project reflects the strength of collaboration between international and local expertise, and we have learned a great deal from the insights, perspectives, and experience shared throughout the process. We are grateful for the trust and engagement of all those involved, and we hope the findings will contribute constructively to ongoing conversations and future work in the Egyptian education context. I would particularly like to thank our consultants Dr Amina Doudi, Dr Amira Salama and Dr Daniel Xerri for their outstanding professionalism and dedication and Hala Ahmed and her team for their continued guidance and support.
