Q - How often do you talk to yourself, re-assure yourself or had battles inside your head?
- and how loud does that inner voice speak to you? Does one let you down more than the other? and say 'watch out' or 'I can't'? Well, for us humans these are our traits that form our personalities and shape our world. Sometimes these are not helpful to us at all and can be naturally left to gather momentum
and spiral if left unaddressed, over a lifetime. That is why these feelings and traits can be so powerful to us that we believe we cannot change, even though we definitely want and need to. Sometimes trying to fight against these causes more stress, anxiety and fear and we are often left with a feeling of hopelessness. Steve Chapman Coaching focuses on the core principles of effective listening, empathy and sensitivity. We all want change in some form or another, but often we do not know where to start. Thinking about making a change can take so much of our mental energy that we often dismiss the effort and happily settle for what we know best and take no action at all - this is known as procrastination. No change and life continues in the same way it always has which sustains no happiness.
Having a positive or negative attitude is a choice, whereby the latter always takes more energy and leaves you more exhausted. To make change in your life you have to create challenges that are manageable. It's no good building a high diving board to represent your first challenge. It needs to be one that's just a foot off the ground. I firmly believe that in order to have more of something in your life you need to have less of something else. In other words you've got to create room.
