Today is ๐๐ค๐ง๐ก๐ ๐๐ช๐ฅ๐ช๐จ ๐ฟ๐๐ฎ, and it feels personal.
Iโve seen first hand what it looks like to live with Lupus. My mum has had it for many years. In the early days, it was tough. Some days she was so exhausted she just wanted to sleep. Not tired. Completely drained.
For those who may not know, Lupus is a chronic potentially life-threatening autoimmune disease where your immune system attacks itself. It can affect the skin, joints, kidneys, even the heart. It comes with unpredictable flares, pain, and deep fatigue.
But hereโs what stayed with me.
You wouldnโt always know.
She learned to keep going. To show up. To smile. Even on the hard days.
And that taught me something I now carry into the work I do supporting women in business.
Just because someone looks fine, it doesnโt mean they feel fine.
Behind the scenes, there can be overwhelm, exhaustion, and quiet battles no one else sees.
So the real lesson is this.
Lead with compassion. Always.
Whether itโs health, life, or business struggles, people are often doing the best they can with what theyโre carrying.

Check in with someone. Offer kindness. Be a little more understanding.
You never know the difference it might make.
When was the last time you truly checked in on someone, not just asked how they are, but really listened?
