💼 Corporate Support – The Great “Untapped” Resource for Charities

Every year, businesses give around £5 BILLION to UK charities.
That’s roughly £100 million every single week 🤯

And here’s the reality…
👉 It’s not just going to the big-name charities
👉 It’s far more accessible than most organisations realise
👉 And most smaller charities aren’t even asking

🤔 Why do businesses support charities?
✔️ PR & visibility – Being seen doing good matters
✔️ Reputation balancing – Many want to offset negative perceptions
✔️ Genuine goodwill – Yes, there are people who simply want to help

💡 And it’s NOT just about money…
Businesses can offer:
🎓 Training – e.g. social media, marketing, strategy
🚚 Resources – vehicles, staff time, logistics support
🤝 Connections – access to decision-makers and networks you’d never reach otherwise

⚠️ The biggest mistake?
Not asking.
You are not going cap in hand.
You offer something valuable: impact, story, visibility, purpose.

🚀 If you want to tap into this properly…
We’ve put together practical, no-nonsense online workshops to help you:
👉 Approach businesses with confidence
👉 Position your charity in the right way
👉 Actually secure support (not just send emails into the void)

🤔 A thought for charity leaders and teams…

Branding is often treated as a “nice to have” — something to revisit later. But in reality, it plays a direct role in how your organisation is perceived, trusted and supported.

💻 🗨️ We’ve recently put together a new workshop focused on the practical side of charity branding — not theory, but how to build something clear, consistent and credible that reflects the quality of your work.

It’s particularly relevant if:

⌛ Your branding hasn’t been reviewed in years

🙋‍♂️ You’re not sure it helps you stand out

😕 Or it doesn’t quite reflect what your charity actually does

“The charity sector pays badly.”

It’s a widely accepted view — but the data tells a more nuanced story.
According to the Living Wage Foundation:

12% of charity sector jobs are paid below the Real Living Wage
20% in the private sector
5% in the public sector

So what does that actually mean?

Yes — the charity sector lags behind the public sector on pay.

But it also outperforms the private sector when it comes to low-paid roles.

👉 That’s not what most people expect.

The reality is that charities sit in a difficult middle ground:

Balancing tight funding models, public expectations, and a strong values-driven mission — often without the structural support or income stability of the public sector.

💡 The takeaway isn’t that “charities are fine.”

It’s that the conversation around pay in the sector is often too simplistic.
If we want to improve pay and sustainability in charities, we need to:

Move beyond assumptions
Understand the structural pressures
And have a more honest, informed conversation about funding and expectations

Because better outcomes start with a clearer understanding of where we actually are.

📢NEW BLOG POST💬

“We’ll deal with it later.”

How many times have those words come up in your charity? It feels reasonable — there’s always something more pressing, budgets are tight, and people are stretched. So we put things off… again.

The problem is that in small charities, later often never shows up at all. And without anyone making a bad decision, issues slowly build — quietly, invisibly, and exactly as everyone expected.

If this sounds familiar, take a moment to read this thoughtful piece on why waiting might actually be a bigger risk than we realise.

🎯 Before you plan anything else this year… know your audience.
