Plot design is a retail & domestic interior planning company. Plot started trading in 2008. Clients include IKEA, UNITE Students, the BBC and ITV.

As a freelance planner/designer I have worked on a number of different projects from multiple large retail layouts, interior design and detailed kitchen planning, to visual merchandising and styling,
I produce detailed plans for construction in AutoCAD and 3D visualisations, in Google Sketchup . I also run a basic 2 day AutoCAD training course or half day basic Google Sketchup training, for the individual or groups of 6 people. Sometimes you don’t need a full interior design project…

You just need someone to help you get unstuck.

Jenny from already had lots of ideas for her coworking space - she just needed someone to bring them together, make sense of them and help turn the ideas in her head into a clear direction.

That’s where my short design consultations can be really useful.

A fresh pair of eyes.
A bit of creative direction.
Someone to join the dots.
And hopefully the confidence to stop second-guessing everything and just get on with it!

Time to get cosy…

The nights are getting darker, the jumpers are back on (sadly - summer baby here!) and suddenly I want my house to feel like one giant cup of tea.

But making your home feel more autumnal doesn’t have to mean buying loads of new stuff or going full pumpkin-spice-everything.

Sometimes it’s as simple as:

🤎 warmer lighting
🤎 adding texture
🤎 bringing in richer, earthy tones
🤎 layering up soft furnishings
🤎 rearranging what you already have

I’ve put together some simple, achievable ways to cosy up your home for autumn over on the Plot Design blog.

Layering textures is the simplest designer trick to make a home feel cosy, thoughtful and stylish. Think wool and bouclé throws, velvet cushions, warm-toned wood and soft, diffused lighting. Start with a neutral base, mix finishes and vary scale ... then let the textures do the work.

There’s something about a well-designed bedroom that makes a room feel instantly calmer. Soft textures, warm lighting, and simple details can turn even the smallest corner into a retreat. Don't forget the cup of coffee/tea!
