🥊 Neighbourhood Alert was delighted to attend a special meet and greet with former WBA World Champion Leigh Wood at the Nottingham School of Boxing last night.

As proud supporters of Switch Up, we are continually inspired by the incredible work of Dr Marcellus Baz BEM and his team, helping young people build confidence, overcome challenges and get their lives back on track.

One of the key messages Leigh spoke about was resilience. He shared how success did not come overnight and how persistence, determination and learning from setbacks were vital to achieving his goals.

That message resonated strongly with the young people in attendance and mirrors the work Switch Up does every day, helping young people realise that their past does not have to define their future. Leigh summed it up perfectly:

"These young people aren't a statistic, they are real people. People make mistakes, but Switch Up gives young people a second chance."

The young people were clearly inspired by the visit, and Leigh generously spent time answering questions, signing autographs, offering advice and supporting a sparring session with one of Switch Up's incredible coaches.

Neighbourhood Alert are proud to support an organisation that is changing lives across Nottinghamshire, and grateful to ambassadors like Leigh Wood who use their platform to encourage and inspire others.

An outstanding advocate for boxing, for young people and for Nottingham.

Give the man the keys to the city. 🗝️🔐

Stalking often involves sustained patterns of behaviour and escalating risk, and increasingly has an online or technology-enabled element.

New authorised professional practice (APP) for stalking or harassment supports a more consistent, victim-centred response, strengthening how forces identify risk early, safeguard victims and manage suspects.

The guidance brings together existing advice into formal APP, setting clearer expectations for how policing should respond at every stage.

Neighbourhood Alert are delighted to support the next generation of local football talent by sponsoring the new shirts for the Canoville FC Warriors Under-13 Girls Team.

The Warriors are preparing for their fifth season and have built an impressive reputation both on and off the pitch. As two-time recipients of their league's Sportsmanship and Fair Play Award, the team embodies teamwork, respect and dedication, making them a fantastic group of young athletes to support.

Our sponsorship has helped provide the squad with new kits as they embark on an exciting new chapter with Canoville FC and compete in the Notts Girls and Ladies League. We are proud to play a small part in helping these talented players represent their club with confidence and pride.

Reflecting on the sponsorship, Team Manager Dean Grimshaw said:

"A huge thank you to Neighbourhood Alert for generously sponsoring shirts for our U13 Canoville Warriors football team. Your support means so much to our players and coaches. It helps our girls feel proud every time they step onto the pitch. We're incredibly grateful for your generosity and for supporting grassroots football in your community. Thank you from everyone at U13 Warriors!"

We wish Dean, the coaching team and all the players the very best for the season ahead and look forward to following their progress both on and off the field.
