This summer has completely kicked my arse
and I’ve been feeling quite wobbly lately
trying to get through the school summer holidays, selling my house, trying to buy a new one and it all falling through, trying to keep two businesses going as well as trying to be a good parent, friend and leader
It’s not all plain sailing and I know i’m not the only one feeling a bit wobbly
and sometimes when you’re wobbling around even the smallest thing can feel like it will tip you over the edge
this is where movement comes in and when you move and create motion - you can really change how you feel and put yourself in a much better position to reset your day
Take yourself outside and go for a walk
Sprint up and down some stairs a few times
Do some squats in your kitchen
or if you can go and throw a heavy barbell around a gym
Not enough people talk about the reality - it’s not all sunshine and roses and what you see online isn’t always what’s going on behind the scenes.
The old me would put a huge amount of energy into showing up, not showing any cracks and powering through
Over the years i’ve learned that sometimes you have to be honest with yourself and others but instead of dwell and sit with the discomfort - move your body and change how you feel
Even if it only works for a few hours, it can really make a massive difference both to yourself and those around you
