What started as a breakdown on the M1 turned into one of those jobs you don’t forget! 🚨❤️

Got the call from a Bradford uncle who’d already been waiting for hours while his boss tried to arrange recovery. BG Breakdown Recovery got the call and we were there in around 30 minutes. 💪🚛

On the way I stopped for fuel and thought, “Uncle’s probably hungry.” So we turned up with a banana, chocolate croissant and water, plus a protein shake for the journey. 🍌🥐💧😂 Sometimes recovery is about more than just moving a vehicle — it’s about looking after the person too.

The journey back was full of laughs. 😂 We joked that he should’ve been recovered in an Audi RS3 instead of a Luton van because the Bradford boys love an RS3! Then we spotted a little Reliant Robin 3-wheeler doing around 50mph on the motorway and couldn’t believe our eyes. 😭😂

Even after hours stranded, uncle kept smiling and joking all the way. He even left us a great review at the end. ❤️

🚨 RUSH HOUR RECOVERY ON MIDDLETON BOULEVARD! 🚛💨

What started as a normal callout turned into one seriously eventful recovery! 😳

BG Breakdown Recovery was called to a broken-down vehicle on Middleton Boulevard near QMC. After initially ending up on the wrong side of the road, I had to spin back around and battle through rush-hour traffic — it took 42 minutes just to reach the customer! 🚗🚗🚗

To make things even crazier, there was another broken-down vehicle around 100 metres behind on the same stretch of road.

A massive thank you to the two police officers who were absolutely brilliant. 👮‍♂️💙 They kept their lights on, helped protect the scene and stayed with me until the vehicle was safely loaded. Friendly, professional and smiling throughout — exactly the kind of support you appreciate when working at the roadside. 🙌

After delivering the vehicle to the yard, the day still wasn’t finished… a motorcyclist pulled a wheelie right in front of me at the lights before continuing through the red! 🏍️😳

🚨 Another recovery completed and another local business back on the move! 🚛💨

This long-wheelbase Ford Transit had been sitting for around a week after suffering a suspected head gasket failure. I got the call and was on scene within the hour, ready to safely recover the van and transport it to a local garage for repairs. 🔧

It turned into a busy one! My first booked customer wasn’t answering calls or messages, so rather than waste time I headed straight to this recovery. Just as I was arriving, customer number one called back saying he was waiting! 😅

No problem — Job 2 recovered first, then straight back to Job 1. Two jobs completed and two happy customers. ✅

Not your average day at BG Breakdown Recovery! 🚛⚡🐢

We were called out to recover this huge American Lincoln Navigator that refused to start. A jump start alone wasn’t enough, so after a little electrical magic around the starter, she finally fired up! 🔧⚡ We loaded her onto the truck, strapped her down and delivered her safely to the customer.

But when we arrived… we met the REAL star of the recovery! 😂🐢

This incredible tortoise is around 30 YEARS OLD and casually wandered around eating grass while keeping an eye on us as we worked. And apparently… he’s the SMALL one! 😳🤣

Cars come and go, but it’s unexpected moments like this that make the job memorable. ❤️

From a cold morning callout to an unexpected city adventure! ❄️🚗⚡

On my way to jump-start a stranded Honda CR-V, I came across a huge group of cyclists taking over the road 🚴‍♂️🔥, passed some amazing live music 🎷🥁, then headed underground to get the customer back on the road.

After the jump-start, I stayed with him to make sure the car was running properly and had enough charge. A successful restart, happy customer, fist bump 🤜🤛✅ and straight onto the next recovery!

SHE BROKE DOWN AT 4PM… AND AT 8:30PM THE CAR WAS STILL THERE! 😳🌍

Imagine your car suddenly becoming completely stuck on a busy roundabout, the wheels refusing to move, while traffic continues flowing around you.

Hours later, this gentleman walked over just to check if the stranded driver was okay. When he heard how long she had been there — and realised the car still hadn’t been recovered — his reaction said it all. 😨

That’s when BG Breakdown Recovery arrived. 🚛💨

🚨 PEUGEOT 2008 STRANDED ON A LIVE ROUNDABOUT! 🚨

This Peugeot 2008 automatic had broken down on the Long Eaton Asda roundabout, leaving it stuck in a live lane with traffic passing around it.

When BG Breakdown Recovery received the call, I arrived within 25 minutes. 🚛💨

This clip only shows what I found when I arrived and me waiting for the customer to return with the spare keys so I could safely start the recovery.

🚨 THIS RECOVERY JOB GOT CRAZIER EVERY MINUTE… 😳

We were called to recover an Iveco Daily after the passenger-side wishbone snapped at around 60mph, leaving the van stranded on a dangerous country road.

The driver had already spent 2½ hours in hi-vis warning traffic on the bend after being let down by another recovery company. When we arrived, he was exhausted and stressed — so before anything else, we gave him some water and a Yorkie. 💧🍫 Sometimes the little things make a massive difference.

Then the chaos continued… 🚜😳

Huge tractors squeezing through the recovery scene, a cone knocked over within minutes, and young riders on fast e-bikes coming through — including one frighteningly close encounter while we were working. ⚠️

With the broken suspension leaving the passenger side almost on the floor, this wasn’t a straightforward load. Using our experience, Slippery Jims and a central pull, we safely got the Iveco onto the truck and out of danger. 💪🚛

From 2½ hours stranded and stressed to finally being safely recovered.

Another job completed by BG Breakdown Recovery — we arrived to stress and left smiles behind. ❤️

🚨 JUST ANOTHER DAY AT BG BREAKDOWN RECOVERY… OR SO WE THOUGHT! 😂

We were called out to Bestwood, Nottingham, to recover a Ford Transit belonging to a lovely couple who run a cleaning business.

Simple recovery, right? Not quite. 😳

Within minutes we had an electric bike flying past ⚡, a quad rider doing an unbelievable wheelie, another driver broken down nearby with her husband coming to help — and to top it all off, we ended up at the traffic lights next to a car with an unmistakably strong smell of w**d coming from it! 👀😂

You genuinely couldn’t script this shift.
