"This afternoon, my Mum, my son and I went to Maltbys Creative Mill on Station Road, to celebrate the launch of Totally Locally Ilkeston's Fiverfest.

Part of today's events included a screening of The Lacemakers, a poignant, thought provoking and surprisingly interesting documentary about the lace industry in the area. If you get an opportunity to see a screening of the film, I would highly recommend it.

Maltby's Mill (the former Seven Stars Cash and Carry) is currently being transformed, from a state of disrepair back to it's former glory, to become a creative hub which will house several studios, a gallery space and cafe - I can't wait to see how it progresses. Well done to Deborah & Jeremy on all the hard work they've put in so far, it's going to be wonderful!"

Come and join us for the official launch of Totally Locally Ilkeston at our lovely old lace mill - Maltby's Creative Mill 112 Station Road, Ilkeston, Derbyshire DE7 5LL on Saturday 27th July. There will be free activities from 10am until 1pm. Plus two special screenings of The Lacemakers - The Forgotten Story of Lace with Director Ed Jarvis to raise money for future Totally Locally events.
