This week I’m helping a lady who is moving home after losing her husband.

It is never easy dealing with our belongings especially the ones that have been hidden for years, it’s even harder doing this alone following bereavement.

Having someone there to gently support you is sometimes all it needs to make the moving process a little less overwhelming.

Someone to say it’s OK when you shed a few tears over something that reminds you of times gone by.

The top tier of your wedding cake sat in the bottom of the wardrobe brings back memories of the start of your married life.

Moments of sadness, moments of laughter, moments of listening to memories.

I love this job for all those moments that I have the privilege to share with clients.

We’re having a long awaited break but it didn’t start off as planned.

An unplanned ‘trip’ on a path at Carsington Water resulted in a bloody nose and sore hand thankfully nothing broken!

A review from a recent client who was a movie fanatic and only watched films on his projector. From his daughter…. I cannot recommend Dawn, The Organised Assistant highly enough.

My 73-year-old dad is moving from Nottingham to Twyford to be closer to us, and because I live quite far away, I wasn’t able to be there to help him as much as I would have liked. He was starting to feel really overwhelmed by everything involved in the move, so I searched online for someone who could help and came across Dawn.

From the moment she arrived, I honestly think she took his stress levels from 100 down to about 10! She came in with a plan, organised everything, bought boxes, helped him pack and, most importantly, made the whole process feel manageable and even enjoyable.

Where my dad had been struggling to see how he was going to get everything done, Dawn calmly showed him the way forward and made everything so much easier. He is now completely packed and ready to go as soon as we have an exchange date, which is such a relief for all of us.

Dawn has been incredibly professional, communicative, organised and, above all, a genuinely kind and lovely person to work with. A massive thank you from both my dad and me. I’m so pleased we found you!

When you pop to your daughter’s house and offer to take her declutter donations but then discover a nice pair of trainers just your size and style! Win win Saturday!

It doesn’t take a lot to make a difference to someone when they are going through a big transition and relocating their life 200 miles away.

Many thanks for all your help. I’ve just filled in the postal redirection form you kindly gave me and am using your checklist too. You’ve taken a lot of the worrying out of the process for me, much appreciated!

Relocating your parents? You don’t have to face this alone.

We used Dawn to help move our parents, both in their 90s. She was brilliant. Super efficient and super kind and considerate. Not living close to our parents, I really do not know how we would have coped without her, not fully having taken on board just how much work it would entail -- not only sifting through the acquisitions of a lifetime, but arranging removals, collections for charity, clearance and cleaning. She even volunteered to help unpack the other end -- some 100 miles away from where she lives-- and all the time keeping my parents' confidence. I couldn't recommend her services enough.
