Our new screening system.
The hopper, on the left will hold over 5 tonnes of pellets. This feeds the vertical 5 metre belt & bucket elevator which drops the pellets on to the 8mm rotary screen. This separates the clean pellets from the fines, which go in to a separate container and then sold in to the animal bedding market. The clean pellets then feed on to the telescopic Miedema elevator. This extends from 7.5 metres to 13 metres and is also self propelling which means we can direct the feed on to any part of the lorry and also swivel it around to fill the hopper for the bagging line. (On the right, out of the picture). We will also use this to fill the store as we will be able to maximise capacity and achieve in the region of 5-6 times the amount we were able to before. Using this type of handling system also reduces degradation of the pellets ensuring a better quality is maintained.
We are currently reaching over 50 tonnes per hour on this system.
