A great presentation last week from Matt Hurst of High Peak Architecture.

Matt showcased some excellent projects, including examples where he has helped clients save money, helped developers maximise the value of land, and supported people in gaining planning permission when they thought it may not be possible.

This Wednesday we are holding our big visitor event, and Matt is looking to build relationships with local property surveyors and estate agents who may be able to refer suitable opportunities his way.

What a fantastic achievement following the charity football match between BNI Masters Stalybridge and BNI Oldham Renaissance.

Sadly, Renaissance didn’t take the win this time — credit where it’s due, BNI Masters were the better team on the day. But the real result was much bigger than the scoreline.

BNI Renaissance managed to raise over £8,000 for Purple Heart Wishes, an incredible charity that grants end-of-life wishes to terminally ill adults.

A bit of fun, a bit of friendly competition, and a lot of fundraising to help people who truly need it — that is exactly what BNI is all about.

With a philosophy of Givers Gain, you wouldn’t expect anything less.

A huge thank you to everyone who played, donated, supported, organised, and helped make the day such a success.

What a cracking meeting this week at BNI Renaissance 👏

A couple of real standout moments worth sharing:

🔹 Scott from S&J Exterior Cleaning delivered a brilliant presentation on the importance of regular gutter maintenance. A simple bit of preventative care that can genuinely save building owners thousands of pounds in avoidable construction and repair costs down the line. One of those talks that really hits home.

🔹 And then Sharon from Admiral Travel had us all dreaming of holidays, sharing her incredible adventure to Iceland — chasing the Northern Lights and snowmobiling through the mountains 🌌❄️
Safe to say, I’ll definitely be booking my next holiday with her!

This is exactly why BNI works so well — quality people, real expertise, and genuine value shared every single week. 💼🤝

Another brilliant session at BNI Renaissance with some great visiting businesses in the room – always good to see new faces and fresh opportunities being created 🤝

A special mention to Matt Hurst from HPA Architecture, who delivered a superb presentation breaking down the complications around Permitted Development Rights when extending your home.

It’s an area that catches so many homeowners out — just because you think something falls under permitted development, doesn’t always mean it does.
