How do you install large shopfront glazing inside an airport terminal?

At Heathrow Terminal 5, an MFC 750 Mini Floor Crane was used alongside specialist vacuum lifters to handle and position glazing panels weighing up to 335kg at a luxury goods store.

Compact dimensions helped the equipment move through the terminal and work close to the shopfront, while manual and battery-powered operation meant no exhaust fumes at the point of use.

Glazing underneath an overhang?

An overhang beam can give you the reach you need.

On this Grade II listed building in central London, a conventional vertical lift would not provide the offset needed to reach the recessed glazing line.

A Libro 2500B Overhang Beam was used to extend the lifting point beneath the projecting façade, while a GL-UMC 600 Glass Manipulator provided the rotation, tilt and slew needed to control the glass as it approached the opening.

With scaffolding, limited pavement space and a busy road immediately alongside the building, the project required a lifting solution designed to work within a restricted operating envelope.

How do you install a helical staircase centrepiece in a restricted cultural venue?

Three helix staircase sections weighing up to 1,036kg had to be moved through the building and lifted into position inside a restricted atrium.

The UNIC URW-706 tracked into the building using HVO fuel with a diesel particulate filter fitted, before switching to a 415V electrical supply once set up for the lift.

Working with limited headroom and at around a 9m radius, the spider crane lifted and slewed each section into position before holding it steady for the installation team.

A solar farm required a specialist machine to lift and position five steel lattice towers measuring 15 metres long and weighing one tonne.

With only 3.2m of tracking space and muddy, uneven ground to contend with, access was a key consideration.

The MCC1004 Mini Crawler Crane combined a compact 2.8m width with tracked mobility and a 21.5m maximum lifting height, allowing it to reach the work area and lift each tower upright for installation. Its Stage V engine also helped reduce emissions while operating on site.

The GGR team is back across both stands for the final day of the show, with plenty of new equipment to see and people on hand to talk through your lifting requirements.

By the main entrance, you’ll find the Crocco40, the UK’s first 40-tonne tracked carrier, alongside the new Ganterud L50 HD Levelling Yoke.

Then head over to Stand 316 to see more specialist lifting equipment, including the MultiGrab 500, G20 Pick & Carry Crane, TMC 100 Li-Ion, TMC 400 Lithium Articulated Crawler Crane, MC100 Hybrid Pick & Carry Crane and 806-3.

It’s the final day of Vertikal Days 2026, so come and meet the team and take a closer look at the equipment while you can.
