Here we give a bit more information on why we use both the Pendulum Tester and SlipAlert Tester when testing a floor surface for slip resistance and look at the scenario's in which we might favour one over the other.

Reduce your Slip Risk – Train your Staff

Can your staff answer these questions?

Do you know what actions you can implement to reduce slip risk within your day-to-day role?
Do you understand the mechanics of a slip and how a slip actually occurs?
Do you fully understand the factors influencing slip risk on your premises?
Are you effectively measuring and managing the risk of slip in accordance with H&S laws?
Are you aware of actions you can take to mitigate and manage any slip risk posed?
Are you reporting slip incidents correctly or are you leaving yourself exposed?

These are just some of the questions that will be answered in the Slip Risk Awareness Training. Ensure that your claims defensibility is not left exposed, ultimately protecting your bottom line.

We have been busy doing a little bit of videoing of the Pendulum Tester. People always find this equipment interesting when they see it in action at expo's and shows.

The pendulum test is a test that uses and instrument known as a pendulum skid resistance tester to measure the dynamic co-efficient of friction, this is the friction available between two objects when at least one of them is moving. This is used to determine the slip resistance of a floor surface.

Retail Systems report that retail footfall is one third lower than pre-Covid levels. What are you experiencing or seeing? Do these figures ring true?

Our Technicians have noted, anecdotally, that the open air centres seem to be busier than the closed ones generally speaking.

April footfall saw significant growth but was still nearly a third lower than pre-covid levels, according to new research. Figures from Springboard show that last month the number of retail visitors was 32.7 per cent lower than in 2019.

If you have problems with fraudsters claiming to have slipped on your floors, regular slip testing can really help to eliminate bogus claims. We also offer floor graphics that inform the public floors have been tested and some of our customers have reported their bogus claims have come down to 0 since using them!
