Maybe it's because I'm a mum before I'm a social media marketer... but I'm all for the proposed social media ban for under 16s.
I spend my days helping businesses show up online and use social media effectively, but when it comes to children, I think it's a completely different conversation.
Kids today are growing up in a world of constant comparison, pressure and exposure to things they simply didn't need to see at such a young age. The reality is that many adults struggle with the impact of social media, so how can we expect children to navigate it?
Children have their whole lives ahead of them to be on Instagram, TikTok and Snapchat.
Let them be children a little longer.
Let them make memories instead of content.
Will a ban fix everything? Of course not.
But if it removes some of the pressure and gives children a few more years to just be children, then I think it's a step in the right direction.
I'd love to know what other parents think... 👇
