Luscious grapes dangling provocatively amid the deer - how the deer prefer to munch on fallen apples at the edge of the vineyard is astonishing. Some very clever planting ideas by those who started the vineyard 54 years ago if this was an intentional distraction tactic! 🍏🦌🍎 The number of deer has increased over the years so hoping they don't have a nibble and change their appetite to juicy sweet grapes 🍬🍇

As the vines begin to flower, time for a foliar feed to help the vines thrive.🌸
The flowers don't need to impress bees as the vines are self pollenating. If it is very wet, windy or cold at this time then flower shatter can occur when grape flowers fail to develop into berries, so watching the forecast as usual. 🌦️🙏🍇

The new Bacchus is going down very well indeed 😋🥂. As a w**e-buyer earlier in her career Nickie from Hendred Store and Post Office has a very discerning palate. The village shop is stocked with all kinds of fresh goodies too so if you're in East Hendred well worth a visit. 🥐🍰🍪
