Kotva Prague

We are thrilled to visit a new project in Prague. Located on the rooftop of a protected Brutalist building in the centre of the city, with world class aspirations, this project is going to be very special.

More soon when we can share more about the project and initial sketches.

The Mill | On Site

Our mill project is currently on site with an impressive tin hat to enable winter working on the roof. A piece of architecture in its own right.

Final day of RIBA awards judging complete! 17 buildings, spanning across 5 counties. We have spoken to clients, architects, engineers, consultants and the occupiers of the buildings in the pursuit of architectural excellence.

We had fun but have deliberated and conjugated considering all aspects of the projects from sustainability, heritage, design and soul.

We can’t wait to share the results with everyone at the awards evening. Whatever the outcome all the teams should be proud of the buildings that we have seen as all architects know to complete a building is a massive achievement in itself and no mean feat.

Oxfordshire Vicarage | Onsite

Working on historic buildings sometimes demands a more traditional approach.

This extension and refurbishment of a lovely gothic revival vicarage in an Oxfordshire conservation area is currently in site. We are closely collaborating with and the wider consultant team to ensure that the design is sensitive to the historic fabric while meeting the demands of modern living.

In addition to the main house we are assisting with the wider landscape design and refurbishment of the guest cottage including a new gym.

Join our Team!

We have had a great end to 2025 and 2026 is looking very positive.

We are looking to grow the design storey team! We are hiring an interior architect and architect to work in our friendly design-led office in Oxford on a wide range of commercial, residential and interiors projects.

These include the interiors of a prestigious hotel, a world class gym in a European capital as well as a number of private residential projects from listed watermills to bespoke homes.

All applications welcome

Gardener’s Cottage | Jericho, Oxford

We wanted to end the year by sharing this small, but meaningful project that was completed recently for Worcester College. This was an interesting and fast paced project completed in 4 months from July - October.

This project elevates the standard of accommodation provided for college fellows and post-graduates. The building was previously occupied by the College Gardener, and even has a banana tree in the garden, this connection inspired the choice of fabrics and artwork.

We selected out of copyright artwork from the college archive to animate the space, choosing imagery that featured the garden and architectural views of the college some iconic, some not well-known. Botanical prints, wallpaper and fabrics were used to allude to the gardening provenance of the building and connection the house with its own back garden.

We made the budget and compact space work hard using both standards and bespoke elements to maximize every inch. A neutral colour palette of greens brings the outside and in and allows the artwork to come to a the fore.

It was a pleasure to work alongside the college to deliver this project and we are grateful to the archivist who helped us source the artwork. Also special mention to the contractor team at inside out who delivered this with a tight time pressure and who supported us with soft furnishings.

Little Faringdon Mill, Oxfordshire

Our sensitive alterations to this beautiful grade II listed historic mill and mill house, that has existed on the site since the domesday book, has just received planning and Listed Building Consent.

The scheme, which splits the original building into two dwellings, introduces new stairs and an addition inspired by the industrial heritage of the site.

This is a special project and we can’t wait to see it develop.
