With this year’s theme—“Our Power, Our Planet”—we’re taking action to help triple renewable energy generation by 2030. As the UK’s largest network of innovation centres, we’re committed to:
- 100% renewable electricity by 2027
- Halving Scope 1 & 2 emissions by 2030
- Supporting sustainable innovation across our centres

Our Net Zero Report outlines how we’ll reduce emissions across our operations and value chain, with key milestones including:
✅ 2025: emissions baseline + early reduction strategies
✅ 2030: 50% cut in Scope 1 & 2 emissions
✅ 2040: 50% cut in Scope 3 emissions

As we raise awareness of , we are proud to announce that we are installing lifesaving defibrillators at our innovation centres across the UK and Ireland. So far 22 of our 32 innovation centres have defibrillators installed including Harwell Innovation Centre in , Ocean Village Innovation Centre - OVIC in and The Catalyst in . The plan is for all centres (where possible) to have the devices fitted within the next 6 months.

Sadly, many of us will witness a cardiac arrest in our lifetime but defibrillators can make all the difference to survival rates. As our centres are very much part of the communities in which they are located, we felt it was important to work with British Heart Foundation to provide our customers, staff and local people with access to this potentially lifesaving equipment.

At Oxford Innovation Space, we know that running a small business can be tough, especially with the rising pressures of today’s economy. According to a recent study by Mental Health UK and iwoca, 4 in 5 small business owners are experiencing symptoms of poor mental health.

That’s why our business support team recently completed Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training with Oxfordshire Mind. This training allows us to:

- Recognise early signs of mental health challenges
- Provide initial support to those in need
- Help guide business owners to professional help if necessary

Our goal is to create a supportive and inclusive environment where mental health is openly discussed and business owners can thrive—both personally and professionally.

We’re committed to supporting our community, not just with strategic advice to grow their businesses, but with care and compassion for their overall well-being.

Exciting news! We're thrilled to announce that we've been shortlisted in multiple categories for the upcoming UKSPA 40th Anniversary Awards!

Future Space, located at the UWE Bristol, has made the final shortlist for Most Successful Science Park (small).

Vulcan Works Creative Hub in Northampton, which we manage on behalf of West Northamptonshire Council, is a finalist in the Driving an Interactive Community category (small).

But that’s not all… A huge congratulations to our customer, CardMedic, based at our Oxford Centre For Innovation, for being shortlisted in the Most Innovative Company category!

The winners will be revealed at the Gala Awards Dinner during the UKSPA 40th Anniversary Conference on October 17th. Fingers crossed for everyone, and best of luck to all the nominees!
