Our founder Greig Box Turnbull joined Get Radio's Business Brunch, recorded live for the first time in front of an audience at the Oxford Business Community Network.

Hosted by Ben Thompson, the conversation covered where Oxfordshire's economy stands right now and where there is room for growth and improvement.

With contributions and questions from the live audience, it was a fascinating look at the Oxfordshire ecosystem and how a united business economy can drive real growth.

Thanks to Get Radio and OBCN for putting the panel together and giving local business a proper platform to talk this through.

Today is National Dog Day 🐾

An opportunity to celebrate all dogs, and encourage adoption.

Last month our team paid a visit to greyhound homing charity Bark Inn Kennels, a partner of Arena Racing Company.

The charity has found homes for more than 2,500 retired racing greyhounds since it was established in 2009. But its volunteers were given just one month to find a new base in February after the site it occupied was approved for housing.

In that time, £10,000 had to be raised - which is where Fortitude stepped in.

After securing blanket media coverage in the midlands, the sum was raised within 24hrs of Bark Inn's desperate situation being told to the media.

We were delighted to see Bark Inn, its greyhounds and volunteers settled into their new home.

Happy National Dog Day ❤️

Exam results day is one of those moments where timing is everything, and this year we had a few different angles working for Cokethorpe School.

On the press side, we liaised closely with the school to pull together their A-Level, BTEC and GCSE results and get them out to local press, landing solid coverage across Oxfordshire press.

But the real standout was on social. We created a video speaking to students on results day, capturing the reactions, relief and excitement that only comes on a day like this. It struck a chord, with more than 20,000 views on Instagram alone - among the highest performing videos on social media.

It's a good reminder that results day content works best when you're covering it from every angle. Press for reach and credibility, video for the emotion and the moment itself. Get that mix right and people actually stop scrolling.

Well done to everyone at Cokethorpe on a strong set of results 👏

There is often a debate about which is better: agency or in-house communications?

Having recently made the switch to an agency from in-house, Fortitude Communications’ Jack Sale explores the differences between the two roles in our latest blog.

From working for a single organisation to supporting a range of clients, Jack shares the lessons and opportunities he's encountered since making the move.

We recently had the privilege of producing a new organisational film for Response, the Oxford-based mental health and housing support charity.

The brief was to capture what Response really does, in the words of the people who live it.

Planning meant working closely with the Response team to line up contributors, from staff to people with lived experience, and map out filming across their supported accommodation throughout the Thames Valley, from a residential care home to shared houses and self contained flats.

Filming conversations about mental health, housing and recovery isn't something you can script or rush. It comes down to making people feel at ease in the moment, building rapport quickly and showing genuine compassion so people feel safe enough to speak honestly. Get that right and the personality comes through on its own.

That's exactly what happened here. The honesty and warmth in every conversation came from people feeling comfortable enough to just be themselves in front of the camera.

In the edit, our job was simply to let those voices lead, keeping the focus on the people telling their story.

A huge thank you to everyone at Response for trusting us with their stories.

An afternoon of sweet treats enjoyed in a whole new way 🍰

This weekend we managed a media event at The Crazy Bear Stadhampton for its bold, new Afternoon Tea Feast, offering an alternative way to enjoy cakes and sandwiches with a table-loaded tea party of delights.

The event was aimed at showcasing this unique concept in the new Residents' Lounge, as well as promoting Crazy Bear as the venue of choice following its relaunch in June.

We sourced and managed a media list including journalists and social media influencers from across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and the surrounding areas, inviting them to experience the new offering and exploring what Crazy Bear has to offer.

Thank you to everyone who came along, has shared content on social media about the event and to the Crazy Bear team for delivering once again!

Fortitude Summer Social 🚣🥂

Team Fortitude swapped laptops for oars last week for our summer social.

We set off from Magdalen Bridge for an hour-long row along the River Cherwell - with varying degrees of success!

Then it was straight to The Oranges and Lemons for some well-earned refreshments 🍔🍻

It's always a great occasion when the team gathers together, and it's this kind of togetherness that reflects the great culture we've built at Fortitude.

It's coming home... or is it?

Our psychic pooch Winston is back with his prediction ahead of tonight's seismic semi-final between England and Argentina.

Unfortunately for the Three Lions, this is the end of the road according to our office whippet 😭

Winston is backing Argentina to book their spot in the final against Spain - we all hope his psychic powers have come to an end! 🤞

Listen to the moment Winston made his decision, live on BBC Oxfordshire earlier today 📻

We're using Winston's predictions to raise awareness of The Joey Beauchamp Foundation and the brilliant work they do to improve mental health support services in Oxfordshire.

Winston is back with his prediction ahead of England’s big quarter-final against Norway tomorrow evening 🏆

This was a particularly special prediction as Winston showcased his psychic talents live on 📻

He is forecasting a win for the Three Lions, just as he did for the last 16 against Mexico 🦁

Let’s hope he is right again, come on England!

Listen to the moment Winston made his move on BBC Oxford via the clip below.

We're using Winston's predictions to raise awareness of and the brilliant work they do to improve mental health support services in Oxfordshire.
