The Hogrefe UK team was delighted to host the Hogrefe Publishing Group’s annual General Managers’ meeting this week in Oxford.

Colleagues travelled from 18 countries across Europe and North & South America to join us in the ‘city of dreaming spires’—making it a truly global gathering.

Alongside a productive business agenda, we made time to share some of Oxford’s highlights. From punting on the River Thames (in the sunshine!) to a memorable visit to Worcester College for a glimpse of university life, a tour of Oxford’s grandest sights, and an evening at the iconic Randolph Hotel; it was a wonderful opportunity to connect beyond the Teams meeting room.

We look forward to welcoming more Hogrefe colleagues, partners and authors to Oxford again soon!

We are pleased to announce that Hogrefe is now the publisher of The New Reynell Developmental Language Scales (NRDLS), one of the UK’s most widely used standardised assessments for identifying and understanding children’s language difficulties.

The NRDLS is a comprehensive tool that assesses both receptive and expressive language skills in young children – providing robust, standardised insights into a child’s language development.

The Emotion Regulation Strategies Questionnaire (FEEL-KJ-2) is a UK-normed self-report measure for children and adolescents aged 9 to 20 years that explores how young people manage and respond to their emotions.

Using a five-point Likert scale, the questionnaire assesses the extent to which different emotion regulation strategies are used when experiencing anger, anxiety, and sadness.

By identifying ways of coping, the FEEL-KJ-2 supports understanding of a young person’s emotional wellbeing and can guide the development of healthier regulation strategies. This makes it a valuable tool for promoting emotional resilience, improving mental health, and helping children and young people manage emotions in a safe, effective, and adaptive way.

In honour of , we interviewed ADI-R co-author and eminent researcher Ann Le Couteur about her fascinating career, in which she has contributed extensively to the development of autism assessments, training (including PACT), and research.

We explore the history of the structured autism assessment interview and much more – including why it's critical to remember that the autism assessment and diagnostic process are interventions themselves.

PACT is gradually being integrated across the NHS so that families can access this evidence-based autism intervention through local services.

If you’re interested in PACT, a good first step is to contact your local NHS Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) service and ask whether they provide it. In many areas you can self-refer, or your GP can make a referral. If it is available through your NHS service, it will usually be free of charge.

If your local service hasn’t heard of PACT yet, you are welcome to share one of our flyers with them.

💬 Parent advocates play an important role in helping bring effective therapies into the NHS.
