📞 A LITTLE CHANGE AT SOLAR SPECIALISTS SCOTLAND! ☀️🔋

We’re currently in the process of moving over to a brand-new phone system, and as with anything new, we’re experiencing a few little teething problems! 😅

We’re hoping to have everything fully sorted within the next 24 hours, so if you’ve been trying to get in touch and had any difficulty, please bear with us…..we’ll be back to full steam very soon! 🙌

Meanwhile, the office is also quite literally up in the air as we move things around to make room for another new desk… this time for our Lacey ❤️

So, new phones, new desk and a slightly chaotic office …business as usual at Solar Specialists Scotland! 😂

🌊 WHEN WE SAY WE GO THE EXTRA MILE… WE MEAN IT! 😂🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

This one has to be up there with one of the most remote customers we’ve ever visited!
Michael has made the trek across a wee footbridge over the sea loch to catch up with one of our customers….and this is actually visit number TWO! 😆

The customer had a few questions about his potential solar install, so naturally, we weren’t going to leave him wondering.

Whether you’re round the corner or somewhere that requires a bridge, a ferry and a decent pair of boots… we’ll get there! 😂

Questions? No bother.

Remote location? No bother.

Scottish sunshine? Absolute bonus! ☀️

Michael is now back on the ferry and heading towards Skye, enjoying some of the stunning scenery that makes working in Scotland not such a bad job after all! ⛴️🏔️

🚢 Meta Glasses, Macaroni & More Lewis Adventures 😂☀️

Well… Michael has got his hands on the new Meta glasses and apparently we’re now a film production company. 🎥😂

Cue lots of suspicious looks from fellow passengers as he wanders around the boat talking to himself, filming everything in sight and generally looking like he’s forgotten where he’s going! 👀🤣

But there is actually a reason we’re back over on the Isle of Lewis…

We installed a system here last week, but unfortunately the inverter decided it had other plans and suffered a critical failure. 😬

So what do we do?

Get straight back on the ferry with a replacement. 🚢🔧

That’s what we call customer service! If something goes wrong, we don’t hide behind emails, excuses or carrier pigeons… we get back over and put it right. 💪☀️

And whilst Michael is there, he’s taking full advantage of those absolutely magical Lewis views. 🌊🏔️
There aren’t many jobs where your commute involves a CalMac ferry, stunning beaches, dramatic scenery and the occasional feeling that you’ve accidentally wandered into a postcard! 😂

And of course, a massive shoutout to CalMac for once again providing what Michael considers to be the finest macaroni in the Western Hemisphere. 🧀😂

Whether it’s solar panels, batteries, faulty inverters or simply finding an excuse to eat macaroni on a ferry…

We might be slightly biased, but we reckon we’ve found the two best views on the Isle of Lewis…

👀 View No.1: Mr Gray’s shiny Tesla setup …enough to make any solar installer stop, stare and forget what they were supposed to be doing! 🔋⚡️

👀 View No.2: Summer standing on the cliffs at Port Ness, taking in what can only be described as an absolutely breathtaking view. 🌊🏔️

To be fair… it’s hard to argue with either! 😂

The Isle of Lewis is an unbelievable place, and getting to travel all over Scotland doing what we do is one of the best parts of the job.

And when it comes to solar, batteries and energy solutions, there’s only one thing we’re prepared to claim…

We’re the absolute best in the business. 😎☀️

😂 AND THAT’S A WRAP… WELL, SORT OF! 🏝️☀️

Michael is heading home and officially bringing the Lewis trip to an end for half the team…

The other half?

They’ve apparently decided they like island life a bit too much and are staying behind to finish off a couple of jobs today. 😂

It’s been another belter of a trip…..

We’ve met some more absolutely brilliant people over here, caught up with some old customers who have somehow gone from customers to friends, and generally caused a bit of a stir with vans, solar panels and a lot of tea. ☕😂

We’ll be back over in September/October, and we genuinely can’t wait to get cracking again.
It’s been a proper team effort from everyone at SSS this week.

And Summer stepping in with an emergency kit run because apparently sending the wrong thing to an island was too easy. 😂🚐

That’s the thing about being a family business — when something needs sorting, someone sorts it.

Even if it involves a mad dash across to an island. 🤣

Everyone cares, everyone gets stuck in, and everyone wants to get the job done right.

🌊 Small world… even on the Isle of Lewis! 😎

Michael’s over on the beautiful Isle of Lewis, taking a stroll along a quiet remote beach, when who does he bump into? 👀

None other than Summer, who’s also up on the island delivering kit! 😂

You can travel to the most remote corners of Scotland and still somehow bump into the team!

🏝️ THE UIST ADVENTURE CONTINUES… 🚐☀️

Following on from yesterday’s video, Michael has a little update from the beautiful Western Isles!

The plan was to head over to Barra today… but it seems our customer decided to disappear into the Atlantic before we got there! 😂👻

No worries though….these things happen. It’s all part and parcel of life (and running a business!) and there’s certainly no point stressing about it.

So, instead, Michael is heading off shortly to the beautiful North Uist, before making his way over to Harris. 🏔️🌊

And after a busy day travelling yesterday, Michael had a cracking night’s sleep at Uist Pods in Frobost. Total peace and quiet, stunning surroundings and the perfect place to recharge the batteries… although we’re not sure the batteries were ever completely switched off! 😂🔋

He’s still missing the family back home ❤️, but as always, he’s cracking on and getting the job done.
And we have to give a special mention to Amanda’s homemade scones at Uist Pods… 🧁

Honestly, they were worth the journey to Uist alone! 😂👌

🚢 Mallaig → Uist… and a wee look behind the scenes!

While most people see the shiny solar panels, batteries and fancy kit going in… they don’t always see the other side of what it takes to make it all happen.

Michael is currently sitting in Mallaig Ferry Terminal, waiting to board the boat to Uist…..and taking a rare moment to have a wee blether about the sacrifices that come with running a business like ours.

Being away from home for 5 or 6 days at a time isn’t always easy. Especially when you’ve got a young family waiting for you at home. ❤️

You miss the school runs. You miss the bedtime routines. You miss the daft little moments that you normally take for granted.

Kevin knows exactly the same feeling, and it’s a sacrifice both of them make week in, week out to keep the wheels turning and deliver the level of service we pride ourselves on.

And it’s not just the lads on the road… the whole team plays their part.

The office staff keeping everything organised, the guys out installing, and even Alison our accountant gets a shout-out! 😂

It genuinely takes everyone pulling in the same direction.

And this week is no different…

We really do have one of the best jobs in the world… travelling around this beautiful country, meeting great customers and installing some seriously impressive renewable energy systems! 😍

This latest beauty features 20 x Aiko 540W panels, paired with an EcoFlow inverter and battery setup…..creating a proper renewable powerhouse for this stunning Highland home. ⚡🔋

And as for the setting… well, Scotland, you’ve done it again! 🏔️😍

From the Highlands to the islands and everywhere in between, we’re incredibly lucky to get to see so much of this amazing country while helping more homes take control of their energy.
