Nowadays the term β€˜Ai’ is chucked about pretty much everywhere. Well we have joined the trend and have been building up our own Smart β€˜Ai’ Camera to feature within the Trail Lab πŸŽ₯

At the heart is a Raspberry Pi and Sony IMX500, driving rider and bike detection. It’s uses complex maths to keep the detection going as the POI passes through the frame.

Once the Trail Lab is out on the hillside expect to see some of these bad boys about keeping an eye on things πŸ‘€

To get accurate data the testing tends to be quite controlled.
E.g. 100 runs down a fireroad πŸ”₯

However, sometimes it is important to get a feel of what is being tested first. Alex was out in the alps earlier this year putting the TMD to work on long and sustained trails.

β€˜I found it a bit heavier on the front end to begin with, but after a few laps was onboard with the feeling. The most noticeable feeling was super fast chatter and how it smoothed out the ride - I would love to play with some extra masses and spring rates’ -

Our tech lead Alex is out at Glentresss today developing a testing protocol for Rimpact tuned mass damper V2 πŸ˜ƒ

This product has been on the WC circuit for a while now, so it is clearly proven that it works. But we want to know HOW it well by pulling data from the bike.

Earlier in the summer we ran a testing week on the Pademelon.cc steering damper. We collected lots of insightful data and had some great riders come help out πŸ‘

One of these riders was Ben Allan who as you can see gave the damper a good shredding. He was treated to a mix of conditions but kept rubber side the whole day sorted us with some brilliant data πŸ“ˆ

The main video from the week is live on our new website, so if you want to see how the testing week went, then link is in comments πŸ”—
