Mountain biking is an important part of the Tweed Valley visitor economy, with several developments underway, including the Mountain Bike Innovation Centre and a proposed adventure bike park.

South of Scotland Enterprise has commissioned Edinburgh Napier University to undertake a short survey asking local businesses about current trading conditions, recent changes in demand, and future expectations.

Last week at Sea Otter Australia powered by Rocky Trail Professor Tom Campbell represented the Mountain Bike Centre of Scotland with Ed Shoote of South of Scotland Enterprise! 🚴‍♂️🌍

This global event brought together leading brands, innovators, and researchers from across the cycling sector, providing an incredible platform to showcase Scotland’s expertise.

Presenting at the event Tom and Ed showcased the unique partnership between Edinburgh Napier University and South of Scotland Enterprise which is creating the Mountain Bike Innovation Centre in Innerleithen, which will act as a national hub for research, product development, and business growth - connecting academia, industry, and community to drive forward the next generation of cycling innovation.

Planning for the Future – Mountain Bike community workshops

organised by South of Scotland Enterprise to be held on Tuesday 4 November at Memorial Hall, Innerleithen
7pm to 9pm

The evening will host three workshops:

• Sustainable Community Trails – led by Forestry and Land Scotland, DMBinS and Tweed Valley Trails Association
• Mountain Bike Research and Mountain Bike Innovation Centre activities – led by South of Scotland Enterprise and Edinburgh Napier University
• Place Planning and Mountain Biking – led by Scottish Borders Council and South of Scotland Enterprise
