The Treefest Partnership Committee members of the Tweed Valley Forest Festival (Peebles Wood Market) are disappointed to announce the cancellation of this year's event scheduled for 17th and 18th October.
Scotland has not yet moved into Phase 4, which allows large gatherings, and the timescales available do not allow for the organisation of an event which meets the high standard to which we aspire.
The committee have spent time looking at the Scottish Government guidelines, along with consulting with the events team at Scottish Borders Council and legal requirements of running the event to ensure the health and safety of all attendees. In addition, we had to factor in the risk of the imposition of a local lockdown in October after expenditure has been incurred and is committed which could risk the future viability of the organisation.
With all of this in mind and with a very heavy heart we came to the conclusion to cancel this year to ensure all of our participants and visiting public's safety. The Peebles Wood Market weekend will be on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th October 2021, and we will be in touch in regards to the 2021 event in the springtime.
We will miss all of you this year, stay safe and can't wait for 2021.
