Good news! We’ve got some more positive environment updates to share!

🇨🇦 Canada’s Sustainable Jobs Plan to become law in 2024
A plan designed to train workers for roles in a green economy will become enshrined in law next year, and forms part of Canada’s plan to reduce emissions by 40-45% by 2030, and net zero by 2050.

⚡Wind and solar will produce 33% of the world’s power by 2030
A report from the Rocky Mountain Institute has revealed that more than a third of our electricity will be sustained by wind and solar projects within the decade.

🌎New legislation enforces unlimited penalties for UK polluters
The current fine limit of £250,000 for organisations found guilty of pollution has been lifted and will be replaced by higher penalties to enforce stricter levels of climate regulation.

🚴Did you know that today is Cycle to Work Day? 🚴

This annual event highlights cycling as a simple commuter swap that benefits both your health and the planet. 🌎

Apparently, swapping just one daily trip from driving to cycling can save half 500 kg of carbon a year!

Not sure you can swap your commute for a cycle? Or perhaps you don’t even have a commute.

However you work, you can still celebrate Cycle to Work Day by getting out for a bike ride. Whether you’re heading to the shops, meeting up with friends, or just fancy some fresh air, get on your bike and cycle there!
