The Met Gala was held on the 13th September at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The theme was “American Independence”. Here are some of our favourite looks:
1. YouTuber honours Marsha P. Johnson, an American icon who pioneered for LGBTQ+ rights. “When I got asked to join the Met Gala(!!!!!) I knew I wanted to pay homage to a trans icon who was at the forefront of the Stonewall Riots”. The dress was by Dutch designer .

The statement clutch includes the text: “Give us your tired”, reciting the poem engraved on the Statue of Liberty. 6/7/8. Rapper told a three-part LGBTQ+ American fairytale. He arrived on the red carpet in a dramatic cape that exudes regality and represents concealing one's true self. The cape was then shed to reveal gleaming Medusa-adorned armour, a symbol of protection from the prejudices faced as a Black, q***r person. Finally, the armour is removed to reveal a skin-tight bodysuit that represents living life as your true, unguarded self. By .
